{"id":114439,"date":"2025-09-04T17:04:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T17:04:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/114439\/"},"modified":"2025-09-04T17:04:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T17:04:07","slug":"tour-of-britain-road-closures-and-parking-info-for-risca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/114439\/","title":{"rendered":"Tour of Britain road closures and parking info for Risca"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Caerphilly Council has issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/publicnoticeportal.uk\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">public notice<\/a> outlining temporary traffic measures for the Tour of Britain cycle race.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The event is scheduled to take place on September 7.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  It will affect towns and villages along the route from Risca to Caerphilly.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The restrictions will be in place between 10.30am and 4pm.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  They include a prohibition on waiting and loading on specified stretches of road.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  A temporary suspension of one-way traffic will be in effect on Castle Street, Caerphilly, between 1.45pm and 3.15pm.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Speed limits will also be suspended for vehicles associated with the event.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Access to properties will be maintained for pedestrians and emergency services only.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Alternative routes will be available via the B4251, B4256, B4257, 84471, A465, A467, A469, A470, A472, A4046, A4048, and the M4.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The full list of affected roads and the lengths of each restriction are as follows:\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Risca:\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8211; Commercial Street (northeastern side from Brookland Road to No 40\/42 Commercial Street, 53m)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8211; Tredegar Street (northeastern side opposite Nos 3 to boundary of Nos 13 and 15 Tredegar Street, 49m)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Crosskeys:\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8211; Cromwell Road (southern side from Raglan Street to No 4 Cromwell Street, 256m)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8211; Gladstone Street (northwestern side between the entrance to the car park and No 21, 76m; and between Nos 27 and 50, 87m)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Wattsville:\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8211; Islwyn Road (northern side between Nos 95 and 109, 42m)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Cwmfelinfach:\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8211; Maindee Road (southwestern side between Nos 3 and 10, 46m)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Pontllanfraith:\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8211; Newport Road (western side from a point 300m north of its junction with Gelli Lane to the Star Hand Car Wash, 75m) &#8211; Sir Ivors Road (western side between Nos 41 to 61, 56m; between Nos 1 to 15, 42m; Both sides of the road in a southern direction from the northern boundary of Taran-y-mwrthwl Lodge, Caerphilly Road, along Wingfield Crescent, Glenview Terrace, Ffrwd Terrace, Park View, High Street, Oak Terrace, De Winton Terrace and to a point 250m south of No 30 Coed-y-Brain Road, 2,348m\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Caerphilly:\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8211; Pontygwindy Road (northeastern and eastern side from NoPontygwindy Road in a south-easterly and southerly direction to its junction with Mill Street, 920m) &#8211; White Street (western side from its junction with Windsor Street in a southerly direction to its junction with Bartlett Street, 140m) &#8211;
