Tommy Cooper has been slapped with a television trigger warning<\/a> over his comments by ITV<\/a>, it has been reported. It comes after another warning was made for Carry On Star Kenneth Williams’ repeated innuendo. According to The Sun, the fez-wearing magician best known for the catchphrase ‘Just like that’ is the latest person ITV has warned viewers about.<\/a><\/p>\n

Many decades ago, the late comedian’s antics were watched by millions of viewers<\/a>, and he was a household name. However, after being uploaded to ITV<\/a>X, episodes of The Best of Tommy Cooper have been given alerts warning of \u201cadult humour and outdated attitudes.\u201d<\/p>\n

One skit shows Tommy joking about his wife, Gwen, telling the audience: \u201cShe\u2019s always on a diet, my wife. She eats nothing but coconuts and bananas all day long.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe hasn\u2019t lost any weight, but you want to see her climb trees.\u201d Tommy then quipped: \u201cSomeone rang my wife and said they\u2019d seen her husband at the beach with a blonde on his arm. My wife said, \u2018What do you expect at his age? A bucket and a spade?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Another episode sees the funnyman perform as Count Dracula and \u00adFrankenstein in a one-man play.<\/p>\n

Free Speech Union head Lord Toby Young said of the warning: \u201cAren\u2019t \u2018outdated attitudes\u2019 precisely why people watch Tommy Cooper? That\u2019s code for humour unconstrained by woke virtue-signalling.\u201d<\/p>\n

ITV has been contacted for comment by Express.co.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Tommy died in 1984, aged 63, after suffering a heart attack on stage in front of 12 million viewers during his act on the London Weekend Television variety show.<\/p>\n
