Former unified welterweight champion Keith Thurman<\/a> has weighed in on the controversial match-up between Gervonta Davis<\/a> and Jake Paul<\/a>.<\/p>\n

WBA lightweight champion \u2018Tank\u2019 Davis will face the former YouTube star on Friday November 14 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.<\/a><\/p>\n

Davis was originally pencilled in to face Lamont Roach Jr in their much anticipated rematch after their first encounter back in March ended in a majority decision draw, but that fight has failed to come to fruition.<\/p>\n

As for Paul, the 28-year-old from Cleveland returned to the ring back in June when he defeated former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their bout in Anaheim on June 28.<\/p>\n

Since the fight was announced, many boxing figures have had differing views on how it will unfold<\/a>, and now former WBC and WBA welterweight champion Thurman has had his say.<\/p>\n

Speaking to ESNEWS<\/a>, Thurman was asked if he believes \u2018Tank\u2019 Davis has what it takes to hurt Paul and potentially trouble him during their controversial bout later this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, if he hits him on the chin. If he hits him on the ribs. If he hits him just right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Known for his thunderous punching power, Davis has produced a number of emphatic highlight reel knockouts throughout the course of his career, defeating the likes of Leo Santa Cruz, Ryan Garcia and Rolando \u2018Rolly\u2019 Romero all via stoppage.<\/p>\n
