Tottenham fans have been stunned this week by the brutal dismissal of Daniel Levy after 24 years in day-to-day charge.<\/p>\n

Levy<\/a> is a controversial figure in the fanbase with some seeing the 63-year-old as an asset to the club due to the financial power he harnessed during his time in North London. <\/p>\n

Other fans were frustrated with his actions in the transfer window, with pundits also criticising Levy\u2019s \u201cover-negotiating\u201d in key deals<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Levy signed off his final transfer window at Tottenham by securing the signatures of Xavi Simons<\/a> and Mohammed Kudus<\/a> on permanent deals as well as the loan transfers of Joao Palhinha and Randal Kolo Muani. <\/p>\n

Some pundits like Jamie O\u2019Hara have seen Levy\u2019s departure as a positive for Tottenham\u2019s chase for success<\/a>, while others like Simon Jordan have warned fans to be \u201ccareful what you wish for.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Speaking to talkSPORT<\/a> about Daniel Levy\u2019s time at Tottenham, Tony Cascarino took a different view.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cWere they a top six club [when Levy took over]? With what they\u2019ve created they\u2019ve become that but not in the trophy sense.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were more of a top ten club back in 2001 but they\u2019ve become a top six club but only because of their infrastructure,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you take the infrastructure of the club and you go from the training ground to the stadium and look at the revenue that has been generated by Tottenham it is at the very top end, they\u2019ve been a driving force and everything is in place to be successful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cascarino did go on to say: \u201cBut the success hasn\u2019t happened, if you take when he\u2019s been in the job since 2001 throughout the years and see who won the Premier League.<\/p>\n

\u201cTeams like Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham haven\u2019t won a title, in that time we\u2019ve had Leicester win the league.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout Levy\u2019s time at the club, fans have shown a resentment towards the chairman, as they felt he was holding the club back. <\/p>\n

As Levy was more focussed with generating profits off of the pitch, the team suffered with results on the pitch. <\/p>\n
