Belarus boss Carlos Alos has suggested he\u2019d have been happy to see the Tartan Army<\/a> at Monday’s World Cup qualifier, writes Scott McDermott in Zalaegerszeg.<\/p>\n

UEFA have banned Belarus from playing games in their home country due to their support of Russia – and insist on matches behind closed doors.<\/p>\n

Their clash with Steve Clarke<\/a> \u2019s side is taking place at the ZTE Arena in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary, with no supporters allowed in.<\/p>\n

Belarus have played their last three competitive games here, picking up three draws.<\/p>\n

But Spanish coach Alos is adamant it WON\u2019T be an advantage to them against Scotland<\/a> because football should always be for fans.<\/p>\n

And with a small band of Tartan Army diehards still making the journey to Hungary, the Belarus gaffer says they shouldn\u2019t be denied seeing their team play.<\/p>\n

Alos said: \u201cLook, I don\u2019t want to interfere in things. I\u2019m not a lawyer.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I talk in general – we play for supporters. This is the main goal of football.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want to go inside particular situations but of course we want to play with supporters.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d feel better with that because we are professionals, so it\u2019s normal for us.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is abnormal is to play behind closed doors. That\u2019s my feeling and I\u2019m sure the feeling of any player on the field tomorrow.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs it an advantage for us against Scotland? I don\u2019t think so.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe never get to play at home or even prepare in our home for matches. I don\u2019t see an advantage in that.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to see a stadium full of fans for all matches.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, it might help us because we know this particular stadium.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut if you ask any coach, if he prefers to play home or away, it\u2019s always home.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is our home for now. But it\u2019s like when you don\u2019t buy a home, you rent one.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not the same. It\u2019s not your home. But we\u2019re happy and appreciative of the support we receive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Belarus were delayed in getting to Hungary after their 5-1 Group C defeat to Athens on Friday night – after having to apply for visas to come to Scotland NEXT month for their game at Hampden.<\/p>\n

But despite their poor start to the World Cup<\/a> campaign, Alos believes they can get something against Clarke\u2019s side.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cIt was a difficult start for us, we had a bad match. We didn\u2019t compete.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut this is a new game and we\u2019re focused on getting a good result.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe saw the Scotland game in Denmark and for the most part they were defending instead of attacking. Tomorrow will be a different game.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will try to be ready for it but it\u2019s tough for us.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to trust our capabilities and believe in ourselves. We won\u2019t start as a victim or make excuses.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are Belarus, we trust our players. We have confidence that we can achieve a positive result.<\/p>\n
