The Armory Show 2025<\/a> concluded on September 7th after a steady weekend of sales. The fair, which opened with its VIP day on September 4th, hosted more than 230 exhibitors from 35 countries in New York\u2019s Javits Center. Some 50,000 visitors attended overall, according to figures from the fair. <\/p>\n This year\u2019s edition of the fair was The Armory Show\u2019s second under the full ownership of the fair conglomerate Frieze and its 31st overall. A buzzy atmosphere throughout was fueled by bold curatorial gambits, especially at the numerous booths<\/a> in the fair\u2019s Presents section dedicated to solo or dual artist presentations from emerging galleries. <\/p>\n \u201cA really good indicator of the general optimism in the air is the strength of the presentations that exhibitors have brought to the fair this year,\u201d Kyla McMillan, director of The Armory Show, told Artsy during the fair\u2019s VIP day.<\/p>\n Tesfaye Urgessa, installation view in Saatchi Yates\u2019s booth at The Armory Show, 2025. Courtesy of Saatchi Yates.<\/p>\n Indeed, the quality of presentations was also matched by an engaged audience, with many dealers reporting that the crowd at this year\u2019s fair was noticeably younger than those at previous editions. \u201cThis year we witnessed a vibrant shift, with many New Yorkers, younger generations, curators, and engaged voices gathering in great numbers,\u201d said Anne-Claudie Coric, executive director at Templon<\/a>. \u201cIn such uncertain times, it is deeply invigorating to see that the appetite for art, and the integrity of artistic creation, remain wholly alive.\u201d <\/p>\n This year\u2019s fair also welcomed 55 debuting galleries including London\u2019s Saatchi Yates<\/a>, Portland-founded ILY2<\/a>, and nomadic gallery Superposition<\/a>. Courtesy of White Cube.<\/p>\n \u201cReturning to The Armory Show for the first time in more than 30 years\u2014now with Kyla leading the way\u2014was incredibly meaningful,\u201d said Courtney Willis Blair, managing director of White Cube U.S. \u201cAlongside strong sales, we were especially encouraged by the many thoughtful conversations we had with curators, museum leaders, and collectors alike\u2014a testament to Kyla\u2019s vision.\u201d<\/p>\n From the fair\u2019s VIP day, dealers reported strong momentum, particularly towards works at lower price points. Reported transactions in the six-figure price range were led by two Fritz Scholder<\/a> paintings, which sold for $375,000 apiece at Casterline|Goodman Gallery\u2019s booth. Galleria Lorcan O\u2019Neill also reported selling a work for $1 million, but it declined to specify the name of the piece. <\/p>\n Here, we round up the key sales reported by galleries at the Armory Show 2025.<\/p>\n Sold-out booths at The Armory Show 2025<\/p>\n Several galleries sold out their presentations at the fair. These included those with more accessibly priced works, such as: <\/p>\n Megan Mulrooney<\/a>\u2019s booth of works by Piper Bangs<\/a>, which sold out in \u201cthe first few hours\u201d of the VIP preview; prices ranged from $5,000 to $20,000 apiece Wolfgang Gallery<\/a>\u2019s booth of paintings by Aineki Traverso<\/a>, with works ranging in price from $1,500 to $12,000 apieceWHATIFTHEWORLD<\/a>\u2019s presentation of Mia Chaplin<\/a>, with works ranging in price from $5,000 to $50,000 apiecePang\u00e9e<\/a>\u2019s booth of paintings by \u00c9lise Lafontaine<\/a>, with prices ranging from $3,800 to $13,000 each<\/p>\n Top sales at The Armory Show 2025 <\/p>\n Sean Kelly Gallery<\/a>\u2019s sales were led by a Kehinde Wiley<\/a> painting, which sold for $265,000. Other reported sales included a sculpture by Jos\u00e9 D\u00e1vila<\/a> for $90,000 and a \u201cnumber of works\u201d by Hugo McCloud<\/a> for $35,000 each. Other sales included a painting by Lindsay Adams<\/a> for $22,000 and an unspecified number of Harminder Judge<\/a> works priced in the range of $9,000 to $14,000 each. <\/p>\n White Cube sold \u201cseveral\u201d pieces from its solo presentation of works by TARWUK<\/a>, including paintings ranging from $65,000 to $100,000, as well as works on paper. Additional sales reported by the gallery included a Tunji Adeniyi-Jones<\/a> painting for $85,000, a mixed-media work by Emmi Whitehorse<\/a> for $150,000, and a Tracey Emin<\/a> bronze for \u00a360,000 ($81,083).<\/p>\n Miles McEnery Gallery<\/a> sold a painting by Beverly Fishman<\/a> for a price in the range of $125,000 to $150,000 and a painting by Karel Funk<\/a> for a price in the price range of $70,000 to $90,000. Other sales included a work by Jacob Hashimoto<\/a> for a price in the range of $70,000 to $90,000, two paintings by Patrick Wilson<\/a> for prices in the range of $40,000 to $50,000 apiece, a painting by Raffi Kalenderian<\/a> for a price in the range of $40,000 to $50,000, a painting by Alexander Ross<\/a> for a price in the range of $40,000 to $50,000, and a painting by Whitney Bedford<\/a> for a price in the range of $25,000 to $35,000. <\/p>\n A number of galleries also led their sales with six-figure transactions. These included: <\/p>\n Marc Straus<\/a> sold three paintings by Antonio Sant\u00edn<\/a> for prices ranging from $30,000 to \u201cover\u201d $500,000 apiece. Buchmann Galerie<\/a> sold a sculpture by Tony Cragg<\/a> for \u201ca price range of around\u201d $250,000.Templon sold a work by Omar Ba<\/a> for $180,000 and \u201cmultiple\u201d Kehinde Wiley miniature paintings for $125,000 each. Tang Contemporary Art<\/a> sold \u201cmultiple\u201d works, including an Ai Weiwei<\/a> sculpture for a price in the range of $150,000 to $180,000. Library Street Collective<\/a> sold two Gary Lang<\/a> paintings for $60,000 and $110,000 apiece. The gallery also sold six Patrick Alston<\/a> paintings; one for $27,000 and the rest for $2,250 each.Galerie Ron Mandos<\/a> sold a work by Daniel Arsham<\/a> for a price in the range of $125,000 to $135,000. It also sold a work by Jacco Olivier<\/a> for a price in the range of $50,000 to $60,000. Bar\u00f3 Galeria<\/a> sold a work by Joana Vasconcelos<\/a> for \u20ac100,000 ($117,310). Saatchi Yates<\/a> sold \u201cmultiple\u201d works from their solo presentation of Tesfaye Urgessa<\/a>\u2014selected as one of Artsy\u2019s best booths from the fair<\/a>. Prices for works ranged from $135,00 to $200,000 apiece.Contemporary HEIS<\/a> sold a painting by Mokuma Kikuhata<\/a> for a price in the range of $100,000 to $200,000. The gallery also sold a work by Rakuko Naito<\/a> for \u201capproximately\u201d $30,000.<\/p>\n More leading sales from The Armory Show 2025<\/p>\n Nara Roesler<\/a> sold a fabric work by Sheila Hicks<\/a> for $87,000 and two prints by Vik Muniz<\/a> for $50,000 each. It also sold a painting by Manoela Medeiros<\/a> for $20,000, a sculpture by Marcelo Silveira<\/a> for $18,000, and three oil paintings by Bruno Dunley<\/a> for $8,000 each. <\/p>\n Alisan Fine Arts<\/a> sold a work by Chinyee<\/a> for a price in the range of $35,000 to $40,000 and a work by Fong Chung-Ray<\/a> for $40,000 to $45,000. It also sold three works by Fu Xiaotong<\/a>, each for a price in the range of $10,000 to $25,000, and a work by Kelly Wang<\/a> for a price in the range of $25,000 to $30,000. <\/p>\n Southern Guild<\/a> sold two paintings by Rom\u00e9o Mivekanni<\/a> for prices in the range of $40,000 to $60,000 each. It also sold a painting by Mmangaliso Nzuza<\/a> for a price in the range of $22,000 to $25,000, a sculpture by Madoda Fani<\/a> for a price in the range of $16,000 to $20,000, a work by Ayotunde Ojo<\/a> for a price in the range of $12,000 to $15,000, and a work by Usha Seejarim<\/a> for a price in the range of $10,000 to $15,000. <\/p>\n Alzueta Gallery<\/a>\u2019s sales were led by two works by Jordi Alcaraz<\/a> for a price in the range of \u20ac20,000 to \u20ac25,000 ($23,462\u2013$29,327) each and four paintings by Guim Ti\u00f3 Zarraluki<\/a> priced in the range of \u20ac10,000 to \u20ac22,000 ($11,731\u2013$25,808) each. It also sold three works by Aythamy Armas<\/a> for prices ranging from \u20ac15,000 to \u20ac17,500 ($17,596\u2013$20,529) apiece, five paintings by Claudia Valsells<\/a> for prices ranging from \u20ac7,000 to \u20ac18,000 ($8,211\u2013$21,115) each, and seven paintings by Maria Yelletisch<\/a> for prices in the range of \u20ac8,000 to \u20ac12,000 ($9,384\u2013$14,077) apiece. <\/p>\n Cristea Roberts Gallery<\/a>\u2019s sales were led by \u201cmultiple sets\u201d of Julian Opie<\/a>\u2019s new lenticular series priced at $60,000 each and a work by Jim Dine<\/a> for $50,000. The gallery also sold \u201cmultiple complete portfolios\u201d of collaged woodcuts by Yinka Shonibare<\/a> for $25,000 each and works by Clare Woods<\/a>, Idris Khan<\/a>, Paula Rego<\/a>, Vija Celmins<\/a>, Sean Scully<\/a>, Sol LeWitt<\/a>, and Robert Mangold<\/a> for unspecified prices. <\/p>\n Other transactions reported by galleries at The Armory Show 2025 included the following: <\/p>\n Pablo\u2019s Birthday<\/a> sold six Eckart Hahn<\/a> paintings, ranging in price from $14,500 to $28,000 each. Catharine Clark Gallery<\/a> sold \u201cseveral\u201d works by Marie Watts<\/a>, including a textile for $28,000, two sculptures for $10,000 each, and three prints for $3,500 each. Galerie Forsblom<\/a> sold a painting by Iria Leino<\/a> for $58,000, a work by Kim Simonsson<\/a> for $27,000, and a work by Mie Olise Kj\u00e6rgaard<\/a> for $22,000. Eric Firestone Gallery<\/a> sold \u201cseveral\u201d Hu\u00ea Thi Hoffmaster<\/a> paintings for prices ranging between $25,000 and $75,000 each, \u201cseveral\u201d Colleen Herman<\/a> paintings for prices ranging between $30,000 and $35,000, and two Martha Edelheit<\/a> paintings for prices ranging between $30,000 and $35,000. Luis de Jesus Los Angeles<\/a> sold a work by Evita Tezeno<\/a> for \u201caround\u201d $50,000, as well as two other collages by the artist for $30,000 each.
