While Richarlison\u2019s absence from the matchday squad raised some eyebrows<\/a>, as expected, three of Tottenham\u2019s senior men, who are on the mend from injuries, also did not make the trip to the Select Car Lease Stadium.<\/p>\n Those were Kulusevski<\/a>, James Maddison and Radu Dragusin, but Frank has confirmed that Maddison is not far away from returning to action<\/a>.<\/p>\n Kulusevski has been out with a foot injury since March and, unfortunately, had to miss out on the Europa League<\/a> final.<\/p>\n The Swede was seen on crutches during the trophy celebration and has continued his rehabilitation through the summer break, but Frank has now confirmed that the former Juventus man will not be fit for Tottenham\u2019s season opener.<\/p>\n When asked how far away Kulusevski is from returning to action, the Dane said (via The Standard<\/a>): \u201cI don\u2019t like to put a timeline on it. Put it this way, he\u2019s not ready for the first game of the season.\u201d<\/p>\n Thomas Frank wants to learn from the injury mistakes Tottenham made last season<\/p>\n Tottenham had an unprecedented injury crisis last season, with the squad being ravaged by muscle injuries at different points.<\/p>\n There were even question marks raised about whether Spurs botched up the recovery of some players, with the likes of Cristian Romero<\/a> and Micky van de Ven<\/a> suffering repeat injuries after being rushed back early.<\/p>\n When asked if Tottenham needed to learn from what happened last season, Frank responded: \u201cIt\u2019s always difficult for me to look into what happened before me. Of course, we try to look into it and speak to people who were there last year and try to learn from it.<\/p>\n \u201cFor me, if there were mistakes, that\u2019s another thing \u2013 I will definitely make some mistakes. I think we need to learn from that. We need to learn from last season. I have some ideas of what I think we can improve and do better. It should be possible to improve it.<\/p>\n \u201cHopefully, we can make good decisions, there will be that little bit of feeling sometimes with knowledge and numbers about when to rotate and when to rest.
