Bruce \u201cShu Shu\u201d Carrington <\/a>wants to jump into the ring with a world champion, but he doesn\u2019t believe the feeling is mutual. For some of the featherweight division’s beltholders, fighting Carrington (16-0, 9 KOs) would only make sense if he got his hands on a world title first<\/a>, something Angelo Leo<\/a> recently said. <\/p>\n For the 28-year-old Carrington, however, that\u2019s an impossible request. <\/p>\n \u201cThese guys all keep saying the same thing, but how am I supposed to get a belt first if none of the champions are willing to fight me?\u201d Carrington said to The Ring<\/a> during a Zoom interview. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t make any sense.\u201dCarrington\u2019s championship wishes were placated in his latest trip to the ring. The highly ranked contender issued a one-sided beatdown to Mateus Heita on July 26 <\/a>in New York to win the interim WBC title via lopsided decision. Fulton hasn’t made it clear if he\u2019ll move back down in weight immediately after, something that also frustrates Carrington. Nothing sits right with him, and nothing ever will until he gets a shot on the big stage.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m tired of the games,\u201d Carrington said. \u201cI\u2019m tired of being dismissed, ignored, and looked over. Wrapping that secondary championship around his waist was a wonderful feeling, but it hasn\u2019t caught the attention of the current beltholders. Although he\u2019s open to fighting anyone willing to give him a chance, Stephen Fulton<\/a>, the division’s WBC champion, might be his quickest route to a title.
Unfortunately for Carrington, though, he\u2019s busy. Fulton (23-1, 8 KOs) is placing his reign on ice as he moves up in weight to take on O\u2019Shaquie Foster on October 25<\/a> at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. <\/p>\n
