Anthony Joshua is hungry to make his boxing return, with a blockbuster Tyson Fury fight at the forefront of his mind.<\/p>\n

Joshua hasn’t been seen inside the squared circle since being knocked out<\/a> by Daniel Dubois<\/a> last September in London.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old has since returned to training following an elbow injury ahead of a huge comebackCredit: Mark Robinson \/ Matchroom Boxing<\/p>\n

He has since been sidelined with an elbow injury that required surgery, but is now back actively training in preparation for a comeback.<\/p>\n

His promoter, Eddie Hearn<\/a>, has said that the former unified heavyweight champion will face a ‘carefully’ matched opponent<\/a> at the beginning of 2026, before ‘a roll of the dice next summer.’<\/p>\n

Joshua’s hiatus from the sport has seen him axed from the IBF heavyweight rankings<\/a>, having previously held the No. 5 spot, but he is still expected to achieve big things upon his comeback.<\/p>\n

One fight the Watford powerhouse has always wanted is an all-British clash with Fury, who seemingly reversed his retirement last month<\/a> and remains Joshua’s top target.<\/p>\n

‘AJ’ took to social media on Tuesday with a clear message for his fans, while revealing his stance on a bout with Fury in what is a rare online rant from the 35-year-old Englishman.<\/p>\n

His comments come days after it was announced that Joseph Parker<\/a> will face Fabio Wardley<\/a> in a heavyweight world title eliminator<\/a> on October 25 at the O2 Arena in London.<\/p>\n

“I can’t lie, I’m proud of Joseph Parker,” Joshua’s Instagram<\/a> story read.<\/p>\n

“Even though he is a competitor. Real recognises real. He’s in the game to fight whoever, whenever, and that’s the DNA of a real general.”<\/p>\n

Fury has never publicly declared his interest in facing off with ‘AJ’ in the ring, instead opting to call out Oleksandr Usyk<\/a> for a trilogy, despite suffering two defeats to the Ukrainian last year.<\/p>\n

‘The Gypsy King’ suffered a split decision defeat to Usyk in May 2024, before losing on points again in their rematch seven months later.<\/p>\n

Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh has expressed his desire to see Usyk defend his titles against 20-year-old Brit Moses Itauma<\/a> next, potentially leaving room for Fury and AJ to meet for a bout over 10 years in the making.<\/p>\n

Tony Yoka, who won gold at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, has been named as a <\/a>potential opponent for Joshua’s next fight<\/a>, but no official announcement has been made\u00a0yet.<\/p>\n

‘AJ’ has, however, negotiated with YouTuber-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul<\/a> over a potential crossover clash in early 2026.<\/p>\n

Paul is set to meet WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis<\/a> in November, and has made it clear that he would like to meet Joshua in a David vs Goliath-style fight after.<\/p>\n
