{"id":127391,"date":"2025-09-10T10:57:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-10T10:57:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/127391\/"},"modified":"2025-09-10T10:57:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T10:57:07","slug":"carl-froch-delivers-honest-verdict-on-floyd-mayweather-vs-mike-tyson-he-cant-hurt-him","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/127391\/","title":{"rendered":"Carl Froch Delivers Honest Verdict On Floyd Mayweather vs Mike Tyson: &#8220;He Can&#8217;t Hurt Him&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.secondsout.com\/topic\/carl-froch\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Carl Froch<\/a> has weighed in on the shock news that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secondsout.com\/topic\/mike-tyson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mike Tyson<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secondsout.com\/topic\/floyd-mayweather\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Floyd Mayweather<\/a> will be fighting next year.<\/p>\n<p>It was reported last week that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secondsout.com\/news\/floyd-mayweather-on-mike-tyson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a fight between Tyson and Mayweather is set to take place<\/a>, despite the fact \u2018Iron Mike\u2019 is almost 60 years old.<\/p>\n<p>The former heavyweight world champion fought back in November last year when he lost a wide decision to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secondsout.com\/topic\/jake-paul\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jake Paul<\/a>, but is now scheduled to meet former multi-weight world champion and all-time great Mayweather, who never fought higher than 154lbs.<\/p>\n<p>It has already garnered a lot of reaction from the boxing world, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PJxxbK_fc0w&amp;t=848s\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">speaking on Froch on Fighting,<\/a> former super-middleweight world champion Froch didn\u2019t hold back with his view on the contest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn my opinion, I don\u2019t think this fight should be happen. I know it\u2019s an exhibition. It sounds sensational, two of the biggest names in boxing history, really, you mention them to anybody, they are going know how they are. One\u2019s half the size of the other.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTyson\u2019s 58, 59, Mayweather is my age, 49 years old, still a spring chicken, can still do it. For me, it\u2019s a fight that shouldn\u2019t really be happening. What\u2019s it doing? What\u2019s it proving? What are they getting out of it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite Mayweather being the much younger man, Froch says the size will play a significant part.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t like the fight. Is there a health issue here? I don\u2019t think Mayweather can hurt Tyson. I don\u2019t think he\u2019s big enough. Height-wise it\u2019s not a massive difference, but he will look tiny next to Tyson. Tyson is big and stocky and thickset.
