Is the greatest of his generation making a comeback? Could he soon play alongside this generation\u2019s greatest?<\/p>\n

Tiger Woods<\/a> looks to be making his way back.<\/p>\n

In a video posted online by Woods’ TGR Foundation, the 15-time Major winner was seen in New Jersey, hitting balls at Liberty National\u2019s driving range.<\/p>\n

Liberty National was the home of the NEXUS Cup, hosted by Woods himself.<\/p>\n

The brief clip shows him swinging what looks like a full wedge shot.<\/p>\n

It was his first public appearance swinging a club since undergoing surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon in March.<\/p>\n

The video of Woods practicing is a promising sign, as it\u2019s been a while since the public last saw him in action.<\/p>\n

Woods last competed publicly against pros in his final TGL match of the season in early March.<\/p>\n

He was expected to return to the PGA Tour<\/a> soon after, with many eyeing the 2025 Masters for his comeback, but he instead announced he would need surgery on his ruptured Achilles.<\/p>\n

Woods’ most recent pro start was at the 2024 Open Championship last July, where he missed the cut.<\/p>\n

He played just five events that season, making only one cut at the Masters<\/a>, where he finished 60th.<\/p>\n

In other words, the people are yearning for golf’s biggest star on the planet. And even his own peers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Woods’ most realistic chance to compete in a stroke-play tournament would be the Hero World Challenge in December.<\/p>\n

Not only is he the host of the event, but he has used it before for multiple comebacks from surgery.<\/p>\n

While the Hero World Challenge is the most likely option, Woods could also return later that month at the 2025 PNC Championship if he doesn\u2019t feel ready in early December.<\/p>\n

It’s an stress-free event that he and his son Charlie played last year, falling in a playoff to Bernhard and Jason Langer.<\/p>\n

The Woods clan could be out seeking revenge this time around.<\/p>\n

If Woods decides to just hold off for the remainder of 2025 and wait until 2026 to return to professional golf, the choices are obvious.<\/p>\n

The then 50-year-old could return at the Genesis Invitational at Riviera in February, where he is also the host.<\/p>\n

Or, of course, he can make the most dramatic of returns at Augusta National for the 2026 Masters if he really wants to up the flair.<\/p>\n

If he returns sooner than that in 2025, golf fans would surely relish seeing him play alongside current world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the people are excited for Woods to make his return whenever that may be. Just look at the comments under the video of him taking a wedge shot.<\/p>\n

“The price for Masters tickets, on the secondary market, just doubled,” one fan joked.<\/p>\n

“The Big Cat is back. Watch out Augusta,” another chimed in.<\/p>\n
