Four English boxers, who are already guaranteed at least a bronze medal, have the chance to upgrade it in the semi-finals.<\/p>\n
Hometown boxer Callum Makin competes in the men’s 75kg category on Friday after coming through a tough quarter-final earlier in the week, when he beat Canada’s Joshua Ofori by split decision.<\/p>\n
He is not the only fighter from Liverpool guaranteed a medal. Odel Kamara, who is also part of the GB Boxing squad, will be hoping to secure his place in the men’s 70kg final on Saturday when he faces Kazakhstan’s Torekhan Sabyrkhan in the semi-finals.<\/p>\n
Fellow GB Boxing squad member Chantelle Reid is also certain of a medal – she faces a women’s 70kg semi-final against Kazakhstan’s Natalia Bogdanova.<\/p>\n
England’s Emily Asquith, part of the England Boxing national programme, will also fight for a final spot in the women’s 80kg category against India’s Pooja Rani.<\/p>\n
