A dad who was \u201cbeaten to a pulp\u201d while his four-year-old daughter watched on in horror<\/a> is to undergo major surgery <\/a>that will involve removing parts of his skull.<\/p>\n

Kaisen Kinsella, 27, was having a meal with his partner, Georgy Annaise, and their kids, Sylvie Star, four, and Sully Moon, who is seven months old, when he was \u201cbrutally attacked\u201d. Georgy clutched their traumatised daughter in her arms as the incident<\/a> unfolded at the Dog and Partridge pub in North Stifford, Essex, on Friday August 22. Kaisen meanwhile was left with a broken eye socket and a bleed on the brain and is still recovering in hospital<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A fundraiser was set up for the self-employed thermal insulator to support his family during his recovery, and his friend Charlie Meggs has now given an update on GoFundMe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThis week, Kaisen will be undergoing major surgery. The procedure will include cosmetic reconstruction of his nose and the removal of damaged portions of his skull, which will be replaced with metal plates due to the severity of the fracture. In preparation, he has shaved his head and is ready to take this important step forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing surgery, Kaisen will remain in the hospital under close care. We will share an update once he has woken up and is safely back home.\u201d<\/p>\n

More than \u00a36,300 has been raised so far and Charlie expressed gratitude to everyone who had donated.<\/p>\n

After the assault, Georgy spoke exclusively to this reporter from Kaisen\u2019s hospital bed, and said: \u201cI never imagined a relaxed evening out with friends and family would turn into a nightmare that has completely upended our lives. This brutal and unprovoked attack has left my daughter traumatised.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s having nightmares and has stopped eating. We\u2019re still in shock, and I can\u2019t help but wonder what has happened to humanity?\u201d<\/p>\n

The mum also described Kaisen as a gentle giant, her best friend and an incredible father. Georgy added: \u201cHe\u2019s always the first to help anyone, and we wouldn\u2019t wish what happened to him on anyone. While his physical injuries will heal with time and surgery, the emotional scars will take much longer. This is just the beginning of a long road to recovery for him and for all of us.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur daughter is supposed to start school next week. Instead of preparing her uniform and getting her excited for this new chapter, we\u2019re now focused on hospital visits and emotional healing. I honestly don\u2019t know how she\u2019ll cope but I have to stay strong for my family and for our children, who witnessed this horrific attack.\u201d<\/p>\n

In relation to the investigation, a spokesperson for Essex Police<\/a> confirmed a 17-year-old boy was arrested on August 28, on suspicion of ABH and GBH with intent. He has been released on bail until November 13.<\/p>\n
