Lewis Hamilton believes that Cadillac have \u201cchosen the right guys\u201d after selecting Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez as their drivers for 2026, with the seven-time World Champion admitting that he still misses working with former team mate Bottas.<\/p>\n
Just prior to the second half of the campaign getting underway, it was confirmed that Cadillac<\/a> will run the veteran pair as their line-up for the team\u2019s maiden season<\/a> next year, meaning that both drivers are making a comeback to the grid after spending 2025 on the sidelines.<\/p>\n The news was met with positive reactions from several drivers<\/a> \u2013 including Perez<\/a>\u2019s former Red Bull<\/a> team mate Max Verstappen<\/a> \u2013 and Hamilton<\/a> has also welcomed the return of Bottas<\/a>, who he raced alongside at Mercedes<\/a> between 2017 and 2021.<\/p>\n When asked what sort of a driver Cadillac are getting, Hamilton responded: \u201cI don\u2019t need to say anything about his talent because he\u2019s shown that throughout his career.<\/p>\n \u201cBut [they\u2019re] getting one of the most honest, probably the funniest, Finns I would imagine, and just the most genuine person to work with. I miss working with him.<\/p>\n \u201cI think they\u2019ve chosen the right guys. Obviously, we\u2019ll see with Sergio as well, he\u2019s got great experience. That knowledge that they both bring from two great teams will help them progress faster.\u201d<\/p>\n Bottas and Perez indeed bring with them a wealth of experience, sharing a total of 527 Grand Prix starts and 16 Grand Prix wins between them.<\/p>\n Pushed on whether he feels it is a good decision to have two experienced names back in the sport, Hamilton reflected: \u201cI think so.
