Arne Slot<\/a> has provided a realistic view of Alexander Isak<\/a>\u2018s integration at Liverpool, warning supporters not to expect the No. 9 to play regularly from the start.<\/p>\n

Isak trained for the first time as a Liverpool player on Tuesday, joining the U21s squad for a session led by Slot\u2019s support staff.<\/p>\n

The \u00a3125 million striker could therefore be in the squad for the trip to Burnley<\/a> on Sunday, but having only played 18 minutes since the end of May it is highly unlikely he will start.<\/p>\n

Those minutes came for Sweden during the international break, and speaking on Isak\u2019s fitness, Slot praised their treatment of his player and urged caution over his game time over the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst of all I think the Sweden manager, Jon Dahl Tomasson, deserves a big, big, big compliment,\u201d he told reporters.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause he gets one of the best \u2013 maybe the best \u2013 strikers in the world and needs to play two very important games for his country, but understands that if he would play him twice for 90 minutes probably the player would have been injured for multiple weeks.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s not always easy for a manager, that he takes care of the interest of a player. So he deserves a big compliment for that.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd we will treat Alex the same as they did. So don\u2019t expect him to be, every single game, on the pitch for 90 minutes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s definitely not going to happen in the upcoming weeks.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe missed a proper pre-season, I think he missed three or four months of team sessions, and so now we have to build him up gradually.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we\u2019ve sign him not only for the upcoming weeks, we\u2019ve signed him for six years.<\/p>\n
