Catherine Zeta-Jones<\/a>, 55, was called out by some fans after sharing a \u2018strange\u2019 anecdote about an interaction with a 12-year-old fan.<\/p>\n

Although others defended her, saying it was a joke about her older husband.<\/p>\n

The screen star plays Morticia Addams in Netflix<\/a>\u2019s mega-hit Wednesday<\/a>, which follows her titular daughter\u2019s (Jenna Ortega<\/a>) mystery-solving escapades as she attends school with her bright-as-the-sun roommate Enid (Emma Meyers<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Appearing to discuss the role on Late Night with Seth Meyers earlier this week, the Welsh actress, who is married to 80-year-old Michael Douglas<\/a>, discussed how her role has introduced her to a \u2018new generation of fans\u2019.<\/p>\n

She continued: \u2018I was hitting gold balls the other day with Michael on the driving range, I was practising, and this really cute 12-year-old boy came up and asked for my autograph, it was really cute.<\/p>\n

As the audience laughed, Seth asked if \u2018Michael can tell when she\u2019s doing math in her head like that,\u2019 to which she responded: \u2018Yeah,<\/p>\n

\u2018He usually thinks I\u2019m wondering what club to pick, and I\u2019m not, I\u2019m going \u201chmm at that time I\u2019m sure it\u2019ll be just fine\u201d.\u2019<\/p>\n

As Seth tried to joke, \u2018that\u2019s good, as long as you know not to give them your number when they\u2019re 12,\u2019 Zeta-Jones quipped: \u2018Hey, Michael Douglas is 25 years older than me.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Mask of Zorro star met Douglas when she was 28, in 1998, before marrying in 2000 and having two children.<\/p>\n

Zeta-Jones\u2019 comment, however, has left a bad taste in the mouth of some fans after the clip<\/a> did the social media<\/a> rounds. <\/p>\n

One TikTok<\/a> user, Katia, wrote: \u2018Why did she have to make a comment about a 12 yo boy, please that\u2019s so inappropriate.\u2019<\/p>\n

Nicola echoed: \u2018Ew, the thing about the 12 yo boy, imagine if a man said that, gross.\u2019<\/p>\n

Dianna agreed: Anyone else think that comment about math and the little boy was super creepy?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018That was an incredibly inappropriate comment. Wow,\u2019 smthn shared.<\/p>\n

The official account of lil xan said: \u2018That 12 y\/o boy comment was frickin\u2019 wild.\u2019<\/p>\n

Some did come to her defence, pointing out the jokey nature of the interaction. <\/p>\n

Tillie argued: \u2018She meant it as a dig to her husband cause he\u2019s 25 years older and when Michael\u2019s gone she can date younger men. It was a joke. It wasn\u2019t saying she\u2019s into 12yo\u2026 understand what she\u2019s saying.\u2019<\/p>\n

Charlie Farley added: \u2018She\u2019s poking fun at her husband because of the age difference.\u2019<\/p>\n

This is the second season<\/a> the actor has appeared in the hit Netflix series, with the show\u2019s success holding strong as millions of viewers tuned in after a three-year wait.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, season one is comfortably at the top of the Netflix top 10 global chart for an English-language show after securing 252 million views.<\/a><\/p>\n
