H\ufeffas your FYP ever served you content of fit-looking people running around shirtless, sweating profusely on a rower, doing burpees or throwing wallballs around? If so, you might be familiar with Hyrox<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What is Hyrox?\ufeff<\/p>\n

Hyrox is a global indoor fitness competition that combines eight kilometres of running and eight functional workout stations, alternating between running and functional exercises. With affiliate gyms and races from Sydney to New York to London, the sport has developed a passionate fanbase.<\/p>\n

It bills itself as “a sport for everybody”, so don’t be put off by the shredded six packs and bulging muscles you’ve seen on socials. As someone in the fitness community, I can safely say anyone and everyone can give it a go.<\/p>\n

Are there races in Australia?<\/p>\n

\ufeffYes! In Sydney they took place in July this year and there are other races to come later in the year and into next:<\/p>\n

A decent shoe\ufeff<\/p>\n

First things first, you’re going to need a decent shoe that can withstand all the running and functional movements. Don’t worry, you won’t need all carbon-plated, neon, speed demon stuff (unless you’re going full-throttle, then by all means) \u2013 just something decent and reliable.<\/p>\n

I currently use the Asics Novablast 5s<\/a>. They’re a lightweight, bouncy, energised trainer for uptempo paces, light intervals and short distances on race day.<\/p>\n
