{"id":132848,"date":"2025-09-12T18:55:06","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T18:55:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/132848\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T18:55:06","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T18:55:06","slug":"hedgehog-rescued-from-drain-by-leicestershire-wildlife-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/132848\/","title":{"rendered":"Hedgehog rescued from drain by Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Wildlife rescuers have saved a hedgehog they believe slipped down a drain. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital said the spiky creature was found by a member of the public who was putting rubbish in his bins and contacted the hospital on Thursday morning. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The hospital said a team pulled the hedgehog back to the top of the drain in South Wigston and gradually uncurled her so she was slim enough to fit through the tight hole.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Amy Blower, an animal care team leader at the hospital, told the BBC the hedgehog was checked over and found to be &#8220;perfectly healthy&#8221;, so had been released back into the wild.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Wildlife rescuers have saved a hedgehog they believe slipped down a drain.
