Diya Godavarthi<\/a> from Colorado is showing that age is no barrier when it comes to chasing big dreams and helping others.<\/p>\nA shining tennis talent, Diya started playing at the age of six. Today, she is the No. 1 ranked player in Colorado for Girls 12U, No. 3 in the Intermountain region and already in the Top 100 nationally.<\/p>\n
Her skills have caught the attention of leading sponsors like Yonex and top tennis academies in Colorado and Florida. She even had the chance to train for a week at the world famous Rafa Nadal Academy in Spain.<\/p>\n
But for Diya, tennis is not just about winning matches. Through the Colossal Youth Athlete of the Year competition, she is raising funds for cancer research, a cause that is very close to her heart. She plays to honor friends who have bravely fought cancer, including some who are no longer here.<\/p>\n
