An AEW star has commented on the announcement that WWE WrestleMania 43 will be taking place in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n
WWE officially confirmed during an unveiling in Las Vegas yesterday that WrestleMania 43 in 2027 will take place in Riyadh.<\/p>\n
During the announcement, Bianca Belair commented on the news and WWE\u2019s relationship with Saudi Arabia in general, saying:<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s amazing. It\u2019s amazing to be a part of a lot of great moments, the hospitality, the culture, the crowds are always great.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think Saudi Arabia has become a space, specifically for women, to make amazing moments and make history. That\u2019s not just important for little girls and women to see, but for little boys and men and the whole world to see.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd every time we go to Saudi Arabia, I see it evolve more and more, whether that\u2019s inside the ring, with more women on the show, or outside the ring with seeing the women on billboards and posters.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd that became even more apparent to me last time I went to Saudi Arabia. We had an all-women\u2019s battle royal, and when we came out, every single woman that came out, the crowd had a chant for them. And when we went backstage, we had a special moment with Natalya because she was a part of the very first women\u2019s match in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has just been very special to see where it started and what it\u2019s evolved into, and it\u2019s been an honor to be a part of that progress and that change, and now having WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia, it just shows that WWE, it transcends globally and it continues to make history. And as a woman, it\u2019s very special to be a part of this.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the latest episode of Busted Open<\/a>, AEW star Thunder Rosa also commented on the announcement and responded to Belair\u2019s comments after being asked about them by Jonathan Coachman. She said:<\/p>\n \u201cThey give them money. We\u2019re gonna give you a show. That\u2019s it. The stakeholders are calling the shots. And you have to go for what they tell you to do, otherwise you\u2019re not gonna eat. This is part of your job.<\/p>\n \u201cBianca, you are absolutely right, the women that are participating in these shows are making history because seven years ago they couldn\u2019t participate, but again, it\u2019s like \u2013 you\u2019re not gonna change how society looks at women in these countries.
