St Helens have confirmed the exit of Jon Bennison, with the 22-year-old winger set to leave the club at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Bennison has been out of favour of late at St Helens, instead being sent on loan to Widnes Vikings and though he was recalled from that loan this week, the winger\u2019s exit has still been confirmed.<\/p>\n

His last appearance in the Red Vee<\/a> came at Magic Weekend with Bennison hooked from the field as Tristan Sailor was shifted to the wing, with Saints losing to Leeds Rhinos in that game.<\/p>\n

He would spend all of August and the first game of September on loan with Widnes as the Vikings won five of six but ultimately saw their play-off hopes end last week with a 16-14 defeat to Halifax Panthers.<\/p>\n

During that six-game loan spell, Bennison scored two tries having scored five tries in 12 games for Saints at the start of the year.<\/p>\n

His confirmed exit means he will now leave St Helens having played 68 games for them, first debuting in 2021 before playing a pivotal role in their 2022 Grand Final-winning season.<\/p>\n

St Helens confirm Jon Bennison exit<\/p>\n

Bennison played 18 games in 2022, scoring six tries including in the play-off semi-final and in the Grand Final as St Helens secured their fourth consecutive win at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

He was a member of the travelling squad who won the World Club Challenge against Penrith Panthers but has found game time harder to come by in 2024 and 2025. He becomes the second winger, after Tee Ritson, to be confirmed as leaving<\/a> at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Speaking to saintsrlfc.com<\/a>, Bennison said: \u201cIt\u2019s tough but I think this is the right decision for me and my career. I\u2019m delighted with what I\u2019ve achieved at Saints and happy with all the memories I\u2019ve made over the past six or so years.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got loads of great memories on and off the field with all the lads. The Grand Final in 2022 is definitely a highlight that will stick with me forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bennison confirmed that he is \u201cexcited for my next chapter\u201d but offered lots of thanks for St Helens and the fans, stating: \u201cTo everyone who has supported me along the way, I\u2019ve got loads of positive memories with the fans. I\u2019ve thoroughly enjoyed my time and I\u2019m very grateful for the support that I\u2019ve been shown over the years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paul Wellens paid tribute, stating: \u201cJon\u2019s impact on the the team has been nothing but positive ever since he walked through the door, he has always set a really high standard in terms of effort and consistency, and day to day I see how much he is admired and respected by everyone, but most importantly his teammates.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish Jon all the very best for the future and must thank him for his hard work, commitment and professionalism that has been the corner stone of his success whilst being here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jon Bennison will leave the Saints at the end of his contract following the conclusion of the 2025 Betfred Super League season.<\/p>\n
