{"id":138063,"date":"2025-09-15T03:52:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-15T03:52:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/138063\/"},"modified":"2025-09-15T03:52:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T03:52:08","slug":"thousands-take-on-skyline-london-to-brighton-bike-ride","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/138063\/","title":{"rendered":"Thousands take on Skyline London to Brighton Bike Ride"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  There were cheers and applause as riders crossed the finish line of the 16th Skyline London to Brighton Bike Ride today (September 14).\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Participants in the London to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theargus.co.uk\/sport\/albion\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"section-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Brighton<\/a> Cycle Ride set off from Clapham Common at 6am and made the 55-mile journey to Madeira Terrace.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The route took cyclists up Ditchling Beacon, through Coldean and into Brighton from Lewes Road.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  They glimpsed the Royal Pavilion before heading to the aquarium and along the seafront.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The finish line was packed with cheering supporters, and those taking part were rewarded with a medal and a well-earned lunch bag.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The event, in its 16th year, supports dozens of charities including Great Ormond Street Hospital, Movember, Macmillan Cancer Support and Mind.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   style=\"width: 100%;\"\/>Jonathon Gilchrist(Image: The Argus)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Jonathon Gilchrist, 32, from London said the ride was &#8220;tough but really fun&#8221;.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He said: &#8220;Ditchling was 100% the hardest bit.
