Rory McIlroy has sent yet another warning to Team USA ahead of the Ryder Cup.<\/p>\n

The Northern Irishman<\/a> will lead Team Europe\u2019s charge in New York later this month, and is warming up in terrifying form.<\/p>\n

McIlroy sunk an eagle put from range for a perfect Ryder Cup send off<\/p>\n

A Masters winner in April, McIlroy had a summer let off before striking back with a statement Irish Open victory <\/a>to start September, and now in his final round before heading to the US he\u2019s sent another message.<\/p>\n

His final round at the BMW PGA Championship<\/a> the 36-year-old\u2019s score of 65 was a massive seven under par.<\/p>\n

On top of that, he finished it off in style, with his final swing on the 18th an outrageous eagle from range at the par five Wentworth hole.<\/p>\n

McIlroy walked off to applause and cheers with bigger tasks upcoming in two weeks time.<\/p>\n

The world No.2 will be one of the main attractions for the 45th Ryder Cup<\/a> at the Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale.<\/p>\n

He\u2019d previously gone a painful 11 years without a major win despite numerous near misses, but finally ended that run at the Masters<\/a>, which also made him only the sixth man in history to complete a grand slam of winning all four majors.<\/p>\n

How has Rory McIlroy fared at the Ryder Cup?<\/p>\n

During that time, McIlroy has also played in all seven Ryder Cups from 2010 to 2023, winning five of them, including a rare away victory in Illinois in 2012 which became known as the Miracle of Medinah.<\/p>\n

He and Team Europe are aiming for a re-run this year after their astonishing turnaround in 2023 which saw McIlroy become the face of the competition.<\/p>\n

The County Down native was Europe\u2019s top point scorer during their comeback win and was also full of emotion amid the backdrop of a car park bust-up with Patrick Cantlay and his caddie Joe LaCava.<\/p>\n

Due to his form since, he enters the cross-continent face-off ranked only behind world No.1 and Team USA star Scottie Scheffler<\/a> with the rest of the pack playing catch up.<\/p>\n

McIlroy teed off at the PGA Championship alongside two of his European teammates<\/a> in Shane Lowry and Jon Rahm who will be key at this year\u2019s event.<\/p>\n

Both Rahm and fellow 2023 star Tyrrell Hatton<\/a> both failed to pick up enough points to automatically qualify for the Ryder Cup due to playing on the Saudi-backed breakaway LIV Golf<\/a> Tour.<\/p>\n

However, captain Luke Donald<\/a> opted to bring both back as his picks, and they found out while together at a bar in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n

“That was obviously a very nice phone call to receive and I was over the moon,\u201d Hatton told the media.<\/p>\n
