{"id":13840,"date":"2025-07-21T21:11:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-21T21:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/13840\/"},"modified":"2025-07-21T21:11:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-21T21:11:10","slug":"national-bank-open-2025-preview-draws-player-list-how-to-watch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/13840\/","title":{"rendered":"National Bank Open 2025: Preview, draws, player list &#038; how to watch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The grass court season might be over, but the tennis never stops as we head stateside for the year&#8217;s US hard court swing where a combined WTA\/ATP 1000 event in Canada is about to get underway.<\/p>\n<p>With just a few days to go until the tournament begins, find out everything you need to know about the 2025 National Bank Open.<\/p>\n<p class=\"u-subtitle1\">National Bank Open schedule<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s tournament will see the qualifying stages begin on Saturday 26 July\u00a0\u2013 Sunday 27 July, while the main draw action will get underway from Monday\u00a028 July\u00a0through to Sunday 7 August.<\/p>\n<p>The day sessions will begin 17:30 BST.<\/p>\n<p class=\"u-subtitle1\">Where is the National Bank Open taking place?<\/p>\n<p>Once again, the National Bank Open will be held across two cities in Canada \u2013 Toronto and Montreal. The dual-venue format means the ATP and WTA events are played at the exact same time in separate cities and then swap to the alternate city the following year.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the women\u2019s event will be hosted at the IGA Stadium in Montreal, where their centre court has the capabilities to seat up to 11,815 fans. Boulter overcame Bernarda Pera and Beatriz Haddad Maia on her way to the round of 16 where she was knocked out by Aryna Sabalenka.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been a mixed season for Boulter so far, who has struggled to string together deep runs on the WTA tour. However, as a former hard court titleholder in San Diego last season &#8211; the British No.1 will be hoping to spark back to form at the upcoming WTA 1000 event.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2025-emma-raducanu-hsbc-championships-r2-serve.jpg\" alt=\"2025-Emma-Raducanu-HSBC-Championships-R2-serve.jpg\" width=\"1445\" height=\"1049\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>She\u2019s joined by British No.3 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/emma-raducanu\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Emma Raducanu<\/a> who is set to make her first appearance at the tournament since 2022. Raducanu has had some memorable runs during the American hard court swing in recent years, including a quarter-final appearance at the Mubadala Citi Open last year, the third round at the Cincinnati Masters three years ago and her historic US Open win in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The 22-year-old has been looking back to her best so far this season, having reached her first WTA 1000 quarter-final at the Miami Open, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/hsbc-championships\/news\/2025-emma-raducanu-storms-into-quarter-finals-at-the-queens-club\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">quarter-finals at the HSBC Championships<\/a> and the third round at Wimbledon. Can Raducanu continue her run of form into the hard court swing and leave her mark in Montreal?<\/p>\n<p>On the ATP side,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/cameron-norrie\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cam Norrie<\/a> is also set to lead the British charge in Toronto off the back of a standout summer on the grass which saw him make the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/wimbledon-championships\/news\/2025-cam-norrie-loses-out-to-two-time-defending-champion-carlos-alcaraz\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">quarter-finals at Wimbledon<\/a> for the second time in his career. The British No.2 has will be looking to translate his grass court form onto the hard courts as he bids to add a second Masters 1000 title to his resume.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/jack-draper\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jacob Fearnley<\/a> is also set to make his tournament debut in Toronto following a breakthrough year on the ATP Tour.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/jack-draper\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jack Draper<\/a>\u00a0was due to compete at the tournament but was forced to withdraw due to an injury he picked up after his Wimbledon campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"u-caption1\">Doubles<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s also plenty of British interest in the doubles draw, with six British men headlining the entry list so far.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2025-julian-cash-lloyd-glasspool-wimbledon-title.jpg\" alt=\"2025-Julian-Cash-Lloyd-Glasspool-Wimbledon-Title.jpg\" width=\"3672\" height=\"2448\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Recently crowned Wimbledon men\u2019s doubles champions <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/julian-cash\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Julian Cash<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/lloyd-glasspool\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lloyd Glasspool<\/a> will enter in peak confidence off the back of sealing their<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/wimbledon-championships\/news\/2025-julian-cash-and-lloyd-glasspool-crowned-first-all-british-mens-doubles-winners-since-1936\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> first Grand Slam title together<\/a>. The pair embarked on a dominant grass court season that saw them win the HSBC Championships, Lexus Eastbourne Open and Wimbledon titles to wrap up the grass court swing with a 17-1 win record.<\/p>\n<p>Now sitting at career-high rankings of world No.3 (Glasspool) and No.4 (Cash), the pair will be a force to be feared heading into the US hard court swing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Joining them will be reigning Australian Open champions <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/henry-patten\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Henry Patten<\/a> and Finnish partner Harri Heliovaara who will be gunning to etch their names on a first Masters 1000 trophy as a duo. <\/p>\n<p>The pair have amassed an extensive title haul already &#8211; including two majors &#8211; but haven\u2019t picked up a title since their triumph in Melbourne back in January and will be hoping their fortune changes when they head stateside.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Roland Garros runners-up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/joe-salisbury\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joe Salisbury<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/neal-skupski\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Neal Skupski<\/a> also join the entry list, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/luke-johnson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Luke Johnson<\/a> who is paired with Dutchman Sander Arends.<\/p>\n<p>On the women\u2019s side, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/olivia-nicholls\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Olivia Nicholls<\/a> and Tereza Mihalikova enter off the back of clinching their biggest career-title at the Berlin Open.
