Shark Tank India judge and entrepreneur Anupam Mittal has challenged the value of traditional MBAs, calling them outdated and overrated compared to hands-on experience in building real-world products.<\/p>\n
In a LinkedIn post, the Shaadi.com founder urged students and young professionals to skip business school unless it\u2019s a top-tier program \u2014 and instead learn by doing.<\/p>\n
Mittal, who holds an MBA himself, said his early career as a product manager shaped his ability to build companies far more than his degree. \u201cCase studies and frameworks are nice,\u201d he wrote, \u201cbut they don\u2019t teach you how to question the status quo or align conflicting stakeholders.\u201d<\/p>\n
He listed real product roles \u2014 from PMs to robotics and AI engineers \u2014 as the best training grounds for anyone looking to run a business, accelerate a career, or lead in the 21st century.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe builder\u2019s life is messy, political, creative, analytical \u2014 all at once,\u201d he wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s a microcosm of real life, not classroom fluff.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mittal added that being a builder forces you to synthesize data, tell compelling stories, and \u201cplay long games\u201d \u2014 traits he credits for his entrepreneurial success.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
