The writer of the new Wonder Woman<\/a> movie has been announced.<\/p>\n

James Gunn<\/a> and Peter Safran\u2019s DCU<\/a> officially kicked off in December 2024 with the animated Creature Commandos series. That was followed by Superman, which is now playing in United States theaters, while Peacemaker Season 2 is scheduled to arrive next month. DCU projects coming in 2026 include Lanterns, Supergirl<\/a>, and Clayface.<\/p>\n

A DCU Wonder Woman movie is also in development, as Gunn confirmed earlier this month that the project was currently being written; however, he didn\u2019t say at the time who was writing it.<\/p>\n

Who is writing the Wonder Woman movie?<\/p>\n

Per Variety<\/a>, the Wonder Woman movie is being written by Ana Nogueira<\/a>. Nogueira wrote the screenplay for Supergirl, which is directed by Craig Gillespie, and is also working on the DCU Teen Titans<\/a> movie, which does not yet have a release date.<\/p>\n

Besides writing, Nogueira has starred in television shows such as Blue Bloods, The Michael J. Fox Show, The Vampire Diaries, The Blacklist, and Hightown.<\/p>\n

Not much else is known about the Wonder Woman movie at this time, as plot details remain under wraps and a director is not yet attached to the project. Nobody has been publicly cast in the role of Diana Prince as of yet.<\/p>\n

Variety<\/a> previously reported that, following the box office success of Superman, Warner Bros. Pictures<\/a> and DC Studios<\/a> were fast-tracking the Wonder Woman movie into development. On Threads, Gunn recently addressed this, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s a priority but I wouldn\u2019t call that fast-tracked. Nothing is going to be shoot unless we\u2019re as sure as we can be that the script is good.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also shot down a rumor<\/a> that suggested DC Studios was looking for an \u201cactress with a TV-centric resume, making to Supergirl\u2019s Milly Alcock,\u201d to play Wonder Woman. \u201cNope,\u201d Gunn commented. \u201cAnd I\u2019d never in a million years look for a major role based on whether they did TV, films, or whatever. It\u2019s all about the casting. I didn\u2019t cast Milly because of her past, but because she was the best one for the role (But we\u2019re also not casting WW, nor even discussing it, until a script is finished.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wonder Woman does not have a release date at this time.
