Legendary heavyweight Lennox Lewis<\/a> has some advice about who Moses Itauma<\/a> should fight next.<\/p>\n

Lewis knows what it\u2019s like to navigate a heavyweight boxing career. He was the last undisputed world champion back in 1999 before Oleksandr Usyk<\/a> also achieved it last year, and has since won it again for a historic second time.<\/p>\n

Many believe that Itauma has what it takes to get all the way to the top, despite having had just 13 fights. However, the 20-year-old has won all of them, 11 by KO, and nine inside the first two rounds, including his last outing with Dillian Whyte back in August.<\/p>\n

Attention has now turned to who Itauma should face next, and speaking to BoxNation<\/a>, Lewis suggested that Croatian Filip Hrgovic was the perfect next opponent for the youngster.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, definitely, he\u2019s a good tester. You notice that everybody that boxes him uses him as a tester in the sense that he\u2019s good there for a couple of rounds and he\u2019s a good trial horse.\u201d<\/p>\n

After saying it was too early for him to fight Usyk, despite Itauma himself saying he is ready,<\/a> Lewis then had another word of advice with regards to building his career patiently.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe future is bright, but he\u2019s got to take his time, there\u2019s no rush.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hrgovic is 33 and has fought 20 times since winning a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016. He has won 19 of them, with just one loss to Daniel Dubois back in 2024.<\/p>\n

He has also beaten the likes of Zhilei Zhang, Demsey McKean and Joe Joyce, while last time out in August, he beat David Adeleye on points, though the latest word is that Hrgovic may have rejected the fight offer from Itauma\u2019s team.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Legendary heavyweight Lennox Lewis has some advice about who Moses Itauma should fight next.
