Hollyoaks <\/a>star Lacey Findlow has announced that she has quit the Channel 4<\/a> soap. The actress, 14, joined the cast of the long-running serial in 2017 as Dee Dee Hutchinson, the adoptive daughter of Tony and Diane Hutchinson, and took over the part from Lily Harrington at the time.<\/p>\n

Lacey explained to fans that the role was only meant to be a short stint for her, although she actually ended up staying in the part for more than a decade, but it will all be over for her in the coming days, as her exit scenes will air next week.<\/p>\n

Taking to Instagram<\/a>, she told her fans: “Next week will be the End of My Hollyoaks<\/a> Era. \u201cWhat started as a six-month role turned into an unforgettable eight-year journey, and I couldn’t be more grateful.<\/p>\n

“Dee Dee Hutchinson, it\u2019s been a joy bringing you to life – from your very first line, \u2018more pink\u2019, to your final one, \u2018NDA until the episode airs\u2019. Thank you for the laughter, the friendships, the lessons, the encouragement and the overall experience.”<\/p>\n

The starlet then thanked her co-stars for their support over the years, as well those who mentored her at The Drama Mob drama school, and didn’t forget to mention ex-Hollyoaks producer boss Bryan Kirkwood and the casting directors.<\/p>\n

She said: “Nick Pickard<\/a> and Alex Fletcher \u2013 for your patience, guidance, love and overall warmth on set, your support has been invaluable.<\/p>\n

\u201cEla-May \u2013 for becoming my role model from our first meet in the underage green room. Ross, Lauren, JP, Eva and Parry \u2013 Team Hutch\/Drinkwell forever.”<\/p>\n

Finally, Lacey, who previously appeared in The Sisters and Sleepy Hallows, thanked the fans of the show for their support of the serial as well. The Viewers for supporting Lacey along the way and for falling in love with little Dee Dee during her Encephalitis journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd of course, thank you to the amazing hair & makeup, wardrobe, kitchen staff, crew, and cast who\u2019ve all played a part in my journey.<\/p>\n
