Despite sharing a title with the 1997 thriller, \u201cAnaconda\u201d is not a remake of the original film that starred Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, Eric Stoltz and Jonathan Hyde.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe new film centers on a group of friends who are facing midlife crises and set off to remake their favorite movie from their youth. Black plays Doug, a wedding videographer, and Rudd is Griff, a background actor. However, when the friends head into the jungle, things get real quickly.\u00a0The cast also includes Thandiwe Newton, Steve Zahn, Daniela Melchior and more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tLast year, Rudd and Black confirmed the project and announced its Dec. 25 release date in a promotional video clip uploaded on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6d8cf3RNa1Y&amp;embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fvariety.com%2F&amp;source_ve_path=Mjg2NjY\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6d8cf3RNa1Y&amp;embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fvariety.com%2F&amp;source_ve_path=Mjg2NjY\" target=\"_blank\">YouTube<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019re making a movie!\u201d Black exclaimed at the start of the video. \u201cPaul Rudd and Jack Black star in the \u2018Anaconda.\u2019\u201d\u00a0According to Rudd, audiences will experience a multitude of emotions while watching the film.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cYou want to get scared,\u201d he said in the video. \u201cYou want to laugh. You want to celebrate with your friends. Maybe you\u2019re alone, sad and don\u2019t have nobody but just want to forget about that.
