Pierre Gasly openly admitted that signing a new Alpine contract was far from a \u201cno-brainer\u201d, having explored his options ahead of that commitment.<\/p>\n
But, Gasly<\/a> has agreed new terms to extend his involvement in a project which he believes in. For Gasly, the key ingredient which is missing for Alpine is self-belief that they can put a competitive car on next year\u2019s grid.<\/p>\n Pierre Gasly calls on Alpine colleagues to believe<\/p>\n Gasly has showed continued faith in Alpine by signing a new multi-year extension, one which runs through to the end of the 2028 season.<\/p>\n Gasly joined Alpine back in 2023, and with his new deal signed, he was asked by PlanetF1.com\u2019s Thomas Maher what this does for his confidence, knowing he is an integral part of the team\u2019s future plans.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cI think yeah, it\u2019s always good.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s good to have some clarity and show my commitment on both ends, from the team towards me, and me towards the team, and with a group of people that I\u2019m working with and feeling in a much better place than I was when I arrived.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I think it\u2019s very clear. I think it can only be positive for everyone in the team.\u201d<\/p>\n Nonetheless, Gasly did not attempt to hide the fact that he did look at potential career paths outside of Alpine.<\/p>\n The team currently sits bottom of the Constructors\u2019 Championship<\/a>, Gasly having scored all 20 of Alpine\u2019s points in 2025.<\/p>\n Asked to confirm that he was not tempted to look elsewhere, Gasly responded: \u201cNo, of course I did. Of course I did.<\/p>\n \u201cI mean, it\u2019s just the normal stuff to do. It\u2019s not like it was a no-brainer looking at the performance at the start of the year. So there is some thinking behind it.<\/p>\n \u201cBut honestly, I believe this is a very strong option.
