How does she approach health and wellness? Here are her top diet and fitness habits.<\/p>\n<p>Kesha trained daily to get in shape for her tour a few years ago. \u201cWhen she is in town, she stays consistent \u2014 mainly three times a week, sometimes four. Sessions are one hour long, but she is also great about working out on her own,\u201d her trainer, Kit Rich told <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.popsugar.com\/fitness\/Kesha-Exercise-Routine-35061530\" target=\"_blank\">Shape<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Kesha strength trains. \u201cI incorporate squats with weights, plyometrics, and lunges. I get creative by using a lot of variations,\u201d Rich said. \u201cKesha loves a challenge! I switch it up all the time. Today, we did a 24\u00ad minute Tabata\u00ad-inspired routine that only focused on arms using 10\u00ad-pound weights, an eight-\u00adpound ball and a resistance band. So she did a total of six exercises for four minutes each (20 seconds on, 10 seconds off).\u201d He adds: \u201cThe lunges, squats, and plyo not only target her glutes, hamstrings, and quads, but help boost her heart rate and metabolism.\u201d According to the <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/healthy-lifestyle\/fitness\/in-depth\/strength-training\/art-20046670\" target=\"_blank\">Mayo Clinic<\/a>, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and build lean muscle mass, and increase calorie burn. Strength training may also help you:<\/p>\n<p>Develop strong bones<br \/>\nManage your weight<br \/>\nEnhance your quality of life<br \/>\nManage chronic conditions<br \/>\nSharpen your thinking skills<\/p>\n<p>Kesha sends the second half of her workout doing pilates, \u201cmainly focused on her core,\u201d said Rich. \u201cWith Kesha, I\u2019ve noticed such an improvement in strength. With Pilates, she has improved quickly. The moves are very intricate and specific, and she really loves it. She requests it every time she comes,\u201d he continued. \u201cThen I do moves on the Pilates machines such as the reformer or Cadillac to target her booty.\u201d He adds: \u201cThe Pilates moves help with specificity to target and shape the backside.\u201d Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/dahlc.mayoclinic.org\/2014\/06\/16\/pilates-overview\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mayo Clinic<\/a>, the workout has many benefits, as it \u201cstrengthens the body\u2019s inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.\u201d It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.<\/p>\n<p>Kesha told <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/2017\/03\/145279\/kesha-sxsw-panel-discussion-refinery29\" target=\"_blank\">Refinery29<\/a> that ditching the dollar sign from her name had to do with battling her eating disorder. \u201cIt [losing the $] happened after I went to rehab for my eating disorder. I let go of my facade about being a girl who didn\u2019t care. My facade was to be strong, and I realized it was total bullshit. I took out the $ because I realized that was part of the facade. It was a journey and I\u2019m happy \u2014 that was me in that part of my life,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Kesha refuses to let the bullies get to her and relies on her higher power. \u201cCriticism online used to tear me up. Then I realized you can\u2019t make people you don\u2019t know your higher power,\u201d she told Refinery29. \u201cThe internet shouldn\u2019t be a place that makes us feel unsafe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kesha goes to therapy and meditates. \u201cI do have a therapist, and I do chanting and meditation,\u201d Kesha told <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nylon.com\/kesha-high-road-review-interview\" target=\"_blank\">Nylon<\/a>. \u201cSome days I forget to, so I\u2019m not like some perfect person about it, but I just notice when I get really stressed out, and I try to just make time to be a person. And honestly, I just think it\u2019s really important to surround yourself with people who love you for you.
