Bernard Tomic has made a good career out of playing tennis and earned himself a substantial amount of money. <\/p>\n

However, when his career draws to a conclusion, he might look back at 2025 as one of the worst years of his career. <\/p>\n

Tomic has set a number of unwanted records in recent years,<\/a> and his form since the start of this year has been nothing short of shocking. <\/p>\n

Tomic has played some of the greats<\/a> on the ATP Tour<\/a> across his career, but right now he\u2019s languishing in 164th place in the world rankings. <\/p>\n

With the Asian swing now getting underway, Tomic\u2019s miserable year is showing no signs of improving. <\/p>\n

Once again, Tomic has failed to even qualify for an ATP-level tournament after a shocking exit in Chengdu. <\/p>\n

During a second qualifying match against Georgian player Nikoloz Basilashvili, he won the first set but then succumbed to a three-set defeat to continue his miserable year. <\/p>\n

Not including qualifiers, Tomic has won just one main draw match at an ATP-level event during 2025 and for a player who has been number 17 in the world, that simply won\u2019t do. <\/p>\n

His only victory of the year came in the last 32 of an ATP 250 event in Mallorca when he defeated his compatriot Rinky Hijikata in three sets. <\/p>\n

Tomic tried to qualify for all of the majors with the exception of Wimbledon and came up short when it came to getting himself in the mix to earn some more ranking points. <\/p>\n

Tomic made the Wimbledon quarterfinal in 2011<\/p>\n

Many years ago, Tomic was being touted as a future Grand Slam champion, and he enjoyed a memorable run at Wimbledon<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Getting into the main draw as a qualifier, Tomic came through the draw as a relatively unknown Australian to make the quarters before losing to eventual champion Novak Djokovic<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Tomic beat Nikolay Davydenko in round one before coming through against Igor Andreev, Robin Soderling and Xavier Malisse. <\/p>\n

The run to the quarters of a Grand Slam has never been replicated by Tomic, and it\u2019s somewhat sad to see how the player\u2019s career has dwindled, with the player now really struggling to qualify for events. <\/p>\n
