{"id":146287,"date":"2025-09-18T23:23:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-18T23:23:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/146287\/"},"modified":"2025-09-18T23:23:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-18T23:23:07","slug":"kerber-eyes-debut-at-luxembourg-ladies-tennis-masters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/146287\/","title":{"rendered":"Kerber eyes debut at Luxembourg Ladies Tennis Masters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The field for next month\u2019s Luxembourg Ladies Tennis Masters was confirmed at a press conference on Tuesday, with the fourth edition of the eight-woman invitational set to take place at the Grand Duchy\u2019s Coque Arena from Oct. 9-12.<\/p>\n<p>In May, it was announced that last year\u2019s champion, Kirsten Flipkens, and 2023 winner Anett Kontaveit would return to Luxembourg in 2025. Eugenie Bouchard, who has since retired from the Hologic WTA Tour, was also revealed to be joining the lineup.<\/p>\n<p>Now, former World No.1 Angelique Kerber has signed on to play the tournament for the first time. France\u2019s Aliz\u00e9\u00a0Cornet and Spain\u2019s Anabel Medina Garrigues will also debut, with previous participants Kim Clijsters and Barbora Strycova rounding out the field.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets can be purchased here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luxembourg-ladies-tennis-masters.com\/tickets\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">TICKETS | ladiestennismasters<\/a><\/p>\n<p>                    <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"js-image  object-fit-cover-picture__img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/2025-Luxembourg-LTM-Complete-Field-Graphic-16x9.jpg.jpeg\" alt=\"2025 Luxembourg LTM Complete Field Graphic\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>For 25 years, Luxembourg played host to a popular WTA 250 stop, organized by the same group, International Women\u2019s Tennis Promotion (IWTP).<\/p>\n<p>From its first staging in 2022, when Clijsters defeated fellow Hall of Famer Martina Hingis in the final, the legends tournament has enjoyed strong support from Luxembourg\u2019s royal family, government, business community and fans.<\/p>\n<p>Each year the event, which is mounted by an army of 90 volunteers, includes a program of panel discussions, tennis clinics and sponsor engagements &#8212; and the tournament organizers donate to the WTA Foundation as a show of friendship and solidarity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLuxembourg continues to provide a wonderful platform for women\u2019s tennis and with the fantastic field of WTA legends that has been assembled, fans are in for a treat,\u201d said Ann Austin, executive director of the WTA Foundation. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlongside the entertainment on court, the community\u2019s efforts to harness the power of sport is very special.
