Already previewed on his current arena tour, Lewis Capaldi<\/a> follows up chart-topping smash Survive<\/a> with the heart-wrenching Something In The Heavens. Could a seventh Number 1 single be on the cards?<\/p>\n

In the week the BBC announces its Girlbands Forever<\/a> series, a brand-new girl gang burst onto the scene. The ‘most chaotic girlband you’ve ever met in your life,’ by their own admission, XO are\u00a0Emmy, Reanna, Shali, Summer and Zoe. Debut single Lovesick drops this week,\u00a0written alongside Willow Kayne and GRACEY and produced by Gil Lewis. You’re gonna want to keep an eye on this lot.<\/p>\n

An all-queer line-up of Bentley Robles, Bimini, Eden Hunter, Janethan, Ellis Miah and Tia Kofi pay a stunning tribute to the late The Vivienne with Your Light Will Shine. Written by Simon Jones and Tommy Hibbits and produced by Miah, this ‘message of unity, love and understanding’ benefits national LGBTQIA+ support line Switchboard<\/a>, to which all proceeds are donated.<\/p>\n

Ahead of her self-titled debut solo album next week (September 26), Perrie<\/a> gives us one final tease of the record before its release: Miss You.<\/p>\n

Following a performance at the MTV VMAs<\/a> that had\u00a0Ariana Grande<\/a> shook, YUNGBLUD<\/a> joins forces with Aerosmith<\/a> on My Only Angel, marking the first new material from Steven Tyler and co. in almost 13 years. My Only Angel serves as the first single lifted from their five-track collaborative EP One More Time, set for release on November 21.<\/p>\n

Now, let’s turn our attention to albums.<\/p>\n

Having already landed one of the biggest songs of 2025<\/a> so far, Lola Young<\/a> unleashes I’m Only F**king Myself<\/a>, alongside cheeky focus track Post Sex Clarity.<\/p>\n

Cardi B<\/a> is back with her second studio album Am I The Drama? The follow-up to 2018 Top 5 debut Invasion Of Privacy<\/a> sees Cardi recruit some big-name collaborators, including Janet Jackson<\/a>, Kehlani<\/a> and Selena Gomez<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They mean business! The original cast recording of The Devil Wears Prada: A New Musical is released on CD, LP and digital platforms this week. Currently playing at London’s Dominion Theatre, the musical features songs composed by Elton John, with lyrics from Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick. The soundtrack even includes two unheard original Elton demos.<\/p>\n

On the project, Elton John says: “The subject matter of The Devil Wears Prada absolutely screams out for music. It’s been one of my favourite films of the last 20 years, so when the conversation came up about me writing the music for the stage version, it was an absolute no-brainer.<\/p>\n

“It has been wonderful to see the response and success of the stage show, and hearing the fantastic reactions to the songs.”<\/p>\n

Maryland multihyphenate Brent Faiyaz is back with third full-length release Icon, as rock royalty Nine Inch Nails<\/a> provide the soundtrack to new sci-fi blockbuster Tron: Ares.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Aussie psych-rock outfit\u00a0Ocean Alley<\/a> offer up fifth LP Love Balloon<\/a>\u00a0ahead of their biggest-ever headline show at London’s Alexandra Palace on September 27. The gig’s billed ‘Ocean Alley Pally,’ by the way. Genius.<\/p>\n
