The Galaxy S26 series<\/a> won\u2019t be hitting the shelves for another three months or so, but that hasn\u2019t stopped the leaks from rolling in. Thanks to the recent One UI 8.5 build leak<\/a>, we\u2019re getting a closer glimpse at some of the features Samsung has up its sleeve for its next flagship series. One of the most exciting reveals so far centers on the camera upgrades.<\/p>\n

Accordingly, the Galaxy S26 series might finally get support for APV (Advanced Professional Video Codec) codec and LUT (Look-Up Table) profiles, according to Tim Tom 0<\/a>. Of course, APV codec support is the headline feature, allowing you to record cinematic-quality videos that retain their clarity even after heavy editing. The trade-off is file size: shooting 1080p\/30fps in APV 422 HQ consumes about 1 GB per minute, while APV 422 LQ uses around 0.75 GB per minute. To handle this, Samsung will let users save these large files directly to external drives via USB-C, so your phone won\u2019t choke on all that data.<\/p>\n

LUT support is another major feature making its way to the Galaxy S26 series. Log videos capture extra color information but look flat and washed out straight from the camera. With the Galaxy S26 series, you might be able to preview LUT color grades right in the Gallery app. All you may need to do is tap the LUT icon, and you\u2019ll see your footage in its final, color-corrected glory. It\u2019s a small tweak that could save a ton of time in editing.<\/p>\n

Frame rates are also getting more options, as you can see above. Full HD footage will be recordable at 25, 50, or 100 fps, Ultra HD at the same speeds, and 8K at 25 fps. Other perks include Horizon Lock for rock-steady footage, improved document scanning, and finer control over Motion Photos, so you can capture the perfect shutter moment every time.<\/p>\n
