Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf was heard screaming 6-0 during their practice session on the eve of the Super 4 clash against India in the Asia Cup 2025. India and Pakistan are set to lock horns for the second time in the Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday, September 21.

Ahead of the fixture, Rauf has added to the controversy in the wake of the recent incidents between the two teams as he was heard shouting 6-0. However, there is no clarity whether it was a sarcastic jibe at India or the score of the football game that the Pakistan players were playing amongst themselves.

Rauf’s remarks were widely seen as a taunt at Operation Sindoor, which was launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. Pakistan has repeatedly claimed it shot down six Indian jets during the operation, and Rauf was accused of echoing this during practice in the presence of Indian media.

Meanwhile, Pakistan are under tremendous pressure to win the upcoming fixture in the aftermath of the no handshake controversy. Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was seen meeting players on the eve of the fixture to boost their morale. Pakistan have also hired sports psychologist Dr Raheel Kareem to improve the team’s spirit ahead of the crucial clash.

Pakistan even cancelled their second consecutive pre-match press conference to avoid media questions ahead of the match. The spirits are down in the Pakistan camp after their crushing defeat against India in the group stage clash, as the Suryakumar Yadav-led side beat them by seven wickets.

Andy Pycroft to be match referee for Super 4 match

To add to Pakistan’s woes, the Indian team decided not to shake hands with the arch-rivals in the aftermath of the recent border escalations between two countries after the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The actions didn’t go down well with the Pakistan team, who expressed their anger by not attending the post-match presentation.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also complained against match referee Andy Pycroft for not taking action against the Indian team. They even threatened to pull out of the tournament if their demands weren’t met and delayed the start of their third group game against the UAE.
