Priscilla Presley<\/a> claims her relationship with Robert Kardashian once collided with her past in a dramatic way, when Elvis rang her at 2 a.m.<\/p>\n

In her upcoming memoir, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis<\/a>, the 80-year-old recalled<\/a>\u00a0the late King of Rock ‘n’ Roll unexpectedly calling in the middle of the night, completely unaware that her new boyfriend was lying beside her.<\/p>\n

‘He’d have gone ballistic, maybe literally, if he’d known Robert was in my bedroom,’ she wrote, in an excerpt obtained by The Sun<\/a>. ‘Elvis always carried a loaded gun, sometimes more than one.’<\/p>\n

Priscilla began dating Kardashian in 1975, shortly after divorcing Elvis in 1973 and ending a subsequent relationship with karate instructor Mike Stone.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The attorney, who later married Kris Jenner<\/a> in 1978 before their 1991 divorce, made a strong impression on her.<\/p>\n

‘Robert was a sweet man, and I liked him,’ she said of their romance.<\/p>\n

Still, she noted that his ‘demanding’ job as a Hollywood lawyer, which required long hours, often strained their relationship.<\/p>\n

‘Priscilla made Robert very happy,’ his friend Joni Migdal said in Jerry Oppenheimer’s 2017 book The Kardashians: An American Drama.<\/p>\n

‘He wanted to marry her and have children with her. That was definitely his hope, his plan.’<\/p>\n

Others close to him recalled Kardashian complaining that Elvis regularly called during the night, sometimes sounding ‘incoherent.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Priscilla would reportedly place the phone on the pillow between them so Robert could hear her ex-husband’s intimate conversations.<\/p>\n

According to Kardashian’s friend Larry Kraines, he once said, ‘This guy Elvis doesn’t stop controlling [Priscilla].’<\/p>\n

Kardashian also allegedly confided that Elvis wasn’t comfortable with her dating because of their daughter, Lisa Marie.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The singer died in 1977 at 42, while Lisa Marie passed away in 2023 at 54.<\/p>\n

‘Robert and I had one last conversation before he died,’ Priscilla wrote. ‘He was the kindest of men, and I remember him with great affection.’<\/p>\n

Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis will be released on September 23.<\/p>\n
