Stage 1<\/p>\n
Supertri returned to its spiritual home of St Helier for the first time since 2021 and, after heavy rain in the morning, the sun was out for the start of the women\u2019s race.<\/p>\n
The format was Enduro \u2013 so three back-to-back triathlons with no rest in between.<\/p>\n
And on the first 300m swim it was Anna Godoy and Tilly Anema who led it out, with the former swiftest through transition to get the first short chute for Stars & Stripes.<\/p>\n
A steep ramp from the water to T1 added an extra challenge and Supertri Toronto winner Vermeylen dropped back after a slip on that.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile there were two penalties for Crown Racing \u2013 Emma Jeffcoat for not doing her helmet up and Siena Stephens (a late replacement for Nora Gm\u00fcr) for mounting the bike too early.<\/p>\n
The roads were starting to dry out after the early rain and the bike handling skills of Taylor-Brown were to the fore as she made up plenty of ground to move into the lead in a Crown one-two with Miriam Casillas Garc\u00eda.<\/p>\n
However they were somehow pipped for the next short chute by Lehair, who showed the brilliant transition speed which would later win her the race.<\/p>\n
Onto the run then and it was Lehair \u2013 Godoy \u2013 GTB<\/a> in that order, while P\u00e9riault had broken clear of the chasers to go into fourth.<\/p>\n A kick on the second run lap from Lehair denied Taylor-Brown the short chute again while P\u00e9riault had now joined up to the front three.<\/p>\n Stage 2<\/p>\n It was all change on the second swim \u2013 Godoy came to the front and we now had a front pack of six \u2013 Lehair, Beth Cook, Vermeylen, P\u00e9riault and GTB<\/a>, just six seconds covering them. Fanni Szalai, fresh from her first podium last time out, was at +17s and it was already 39s and more to the rest.<\/p>\n Szalai\u2019s chances were dealt a hammer blow soon afterwards however as she took a tumble onto the tarmac.<\/p>\n As on the first stage Taylor-Brown was now leading it out on the bike, with Lehair, Cook \u2013 who was putting up a fantastic show in only her second Supertri race \u2013 and P\u00e9riault in second, third and fourth respectively.<\/p>\n GTB<\/a> tried to assert on the first of two run laps but Lehair was having none of it and moved to the front on the second loop.<\/p>\n Ahead of the swim Lehair was seven seconds ahead of GTB<\/a>, with P\u00e9riault at 14s in third and a tricky decision for Podium chief John Anthony as to which of his athletes would get the short chute.<\/p>\n He went for P\u00e9riault over Lehair, a decision which would later be fully vindicated.<\/p>\n The other short chute went to Godoy who won it herself for Stars & Stripes. At that point she was battling for fourth with Cook and Vermeylen but would end up being eliminated before she could take the short chute!<\/p>\n Stage 3<\/p>\n The final swim saw P\u00e9riault power past Taylor-Brown so it was a Podium one-two starting the bike.<\/p>\n Taylor-Brown again tried to put daylight between herself and the Podium duo on lap two but couldn\u2019t make it stick and the three were back together heading into T2.<\/p>\n That was where a quite brilliant transition from Lehair pretty much settled it even though P\u00e9riault had the short chute.<\/p>\n She took that at the end of the first lap but the gaps were now significant and Lehair crossed the line in 54:35, eight seconds ahead of P\u00e9riault, with another eight seconds back to GTB<\/a> in third.<\/p>\n Brownlee Racing duo Vermeylen and Cook rounded out the top five, around a minute back.<\/p>\n Supertri Jersey results<\/p>\n Sunday 21 September 2025 \u2013 Enduro \u2013 Elite Women<\/p>\n 1.
