Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz<\/a> received some sharp on-air criticism after his run out against India in the Asia Cup on Sunday (September 21).<\/p>\n Mohammad Nawaz gets run out in strange fashion vs India <\/p>\n India chose to field first in the Super Fours encounter between the sides at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, and struck an early blow when Hardik Pandya had Fakhar Zaman caught behind.<\/p>\n Read more: Mumbai wicketkeeper outshines IPL batters in comprehensive India U19 win over Australia<\/a><\/p>\n Sahibzada Farhan took the attack to the bowlers, with Saim Ayub for company. Ayub departed in the 11th over for 21, and Hussain Talat went three overs later to bring Mohammad Nawaz to the crease at 110-3.<\/p>\n Nawaz lost the company of Farhan one over after he walked in, but received support from skipper Salman Ali Agha as he made his way to 21 off 19, perhaps slower than Pakistan would have liked at that stage of the innings. <\/p>\n In the 19th over, Agha knocked a full delivery from Jasprit Bumrah into the onside, and set off for a single. That was completed, as the throw came in from backward square leg to the non-striker’s end, but missed the stumps. As television cameras panned away, the sound of the ball hitting the stumps was heard, and an appeal from the fielding team.<\/p>\n ‘I’m literally speechless’ <\/p>\n Replays showed that India skipper Suryakumar Yadav had backed up the initial throw, and lobbed it back at the striker’s end, where Nawaz was somewhat absent-mindedly lurking outside the crease. He attempted to regain his ground as the throw from Surya came in, but was caught with his bat in the air, and had to return to the pavilion, leaving Pakistan 149-5.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n “Unbelievable. I’m literally speechless,” said former Pakistan international Wasim Akram on broadcast commentary.
