Screened during a private Disney event ahead of its upcoming theatrical debut, the footage teases major conflicts, new Na\u2019vi tribes, and the return of key characters from The Way of Water.<\/p>\n<p>Avatar: Fire and Ash Trailer description revealed ahead of release<\/p>\n<p>Disney and 20th Century Studios screened the first trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash on July 21, 2025. The footage will play exclusively in theaters before The Fantastic Four: First Steps starting July 24. James Cameron is the director of the film, which hits theaters on December 19, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The trailer opens with aerial shots and a dive into water. Jake Sully\u2019s son declares, \u201cThe strength of the ancestors is here.\u201d In one scene, Spider embraces Jake but later gets shoved by Jake\u2019s son. Jake tells Neytiri, \u201cYou cannot live like this, baby, in hate\u201d (via <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/avatar-3-fire-and-ash-trailer-description\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Screen Rant<\/a>). <\/p>\n<p>A character approaches the Ash People\u2019s territory, which features volcanic terrain and desolate surroundings, with raised hands. The Ash People appear with gray skin, black eye markings, and the ability to wield fire.<\/p>\n<p>Miles Quaritch wears Ash People war paint, signaling his alliance with them. In another scene, humans arrest Jake and escort him into custody. A Na\u2019vi woman lies in a hospital bed, pleading for \u201cthe children,\u201d while Spider gasps for oxygen. The Water Tribe joins Jake\u2019s family in battle against the Ash People, who have defected from the Na\u2019vi\u2019s traditional ways.<\/p>\n<p>Varang, the Ash People\u2019s leader, declares, \u201cYour goddess has no dominion here.\u201d The footage shows Wind Traders riding airborne contraptions and Fire People soaring on flying beasts. During a skirmish, a Na\u2019vi takes a flaming arrow. Spider slides across floating rocks with fire erupting behind him as Jake reaches out to save him.<\/p>\n<p>The trailer emphasizes the growing conflict between Jake\u2019s family, the Metkayina, and the Ash People.
