{"id":153757,"date":"2025-09-22T20:11:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T20:11:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/153757\/"},"modified":"2025-09-22T20:11:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T20:11:08","slug":"carlos-alcaraz-sends-a-message-to-team-world-on-social-media-after-team-europes-defeat-at-the-laver-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/153757\/","title":{"rendered":"Carlos Alcaraz sends a message to Team World on social media after Team Europe&#8217;s defeat at the Laver Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Team World clinched their third Laver Cup in four years after sealing the title on day three of the event, winning 15-9. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/taylor-fritz\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Taylor Fritz<\/a> won the decisive tie against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/alexander-zverev\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alexander Zverev<\/a> to lead his side to victory and become the first player in history to claim multiple top-five wins in a single edition of the tournament. <\/p>\n<p>His first such triumph came against the world number one, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/taylor-fritz-says-why-he-was-getting-so-worried-during-his-match-with-carlos-alcaraz-despite-winning\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fritz beating Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> in straight sets on the second day of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/Laver-Cup\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Laver Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alcaraz<\/a> bounced back from his defeat on day three, securing six points for Team Europe by winning his singles and doubles matches, but ultimately it was not enough to see his side through. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"689\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/GettyImages-2236660562-1024x689.jpg\" alt=\"Taylor Fritz hoisting the Laver Cup for Team World.\" \/>Photo by Ezra Shaw\/Getty Images for Laver Cup<\/p>\n<p>After the defeat, the Spaniard took to social media to send a message to Team World. <\/p>\n<p>In a post on Instagram, Alcaraz said: \u201cWe fought until the very end, but it wasn\u2019t meant to be!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongrats to Team World on winning the Laver Cup in San Francisco!
