It was a mixed weekend for the two F1 drivers at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix \u2013 with Leclerc missing out on the podium while Sainz secured his maiden podium of the season. In an unexpected turn of events, they ended up on a road trip to Monaco after their travel plans were disrupted by a storm.<\/p>\n

Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc decided to rent a van to get to Monaco after competing at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku. Sharing a candid monochrome picture of their ride and a video, Sainz wrote on Instagram: \u201cAn eventful end to an eventful weekend in Baku.\u201dLeclerc said in the video: \u201cSo, after a difficult weekend in Baku, I thought it couldn’t get any worse, but\u2026\u201d before turning the camera to reveal the driver \u2014 none other than Carlos Sainz.Adding more details, Sainz said, \u201cWe are driving a van! In the middle of Italy. We were diverted by a storm, we couldn\u2019t land in Nice, so we landed in the middle of Italy. We rented a van, and now we are on our way to Monaco. A two-hour drive, and we\u2019ll make it in one hour and a half!\u201dFans loved the moment. One wrote on Instagram, \u201cThese two together are a sight to behold.\u201d Another added, \u201cThey love each other, man.\u201d A third commented, \u201cMore together or nothing than ever, aaaaa I passed away.\u201d Many others referred to them as \u201cCharlos.\u201d One fan wrote, \u201cMy fav Charlos.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carlos Sainz didn\u2019t mind driving Charles Leclerc to Monaco, who at least got himself a \u201cchauffeur\u201d after a tough race. Leclerc shared pictures from Baku and his van ride with Sainz on Instagram, writing, \u201cIt was a tough weekend from the beginning to the end\u2026 10\/10 Chauffeur to go back home though.\u201dIt was a big moment for Sainz after moving from Ferrari to Williams. Summing up his feelings after finishing third in Baku, Sainz wrote on Instagram, \u201cWhat a feeling! Amazing podium here in Baku! We kept pushing through ups and downs and this makes it all worth it. Thanks to the whole team and all our fans, this is just the beginning. Vamos! What a feeling! Great podium in Baku!
