A statement was released just days after the 2025 launch show aired<\/p>\n

Dani Dyer has been forced to withdraw from Strictly Come Dancing just days before the first live show of the series.<\/p>\n

The former Love Island winner was among the 15 celebrity contestants<\/a> taking part in the BBC<\/a> One dance contest this year.<\/p>\n

She was seen making her debut in the ballroom during the launch show on Saturday (September 20), where it was revealed she’d be partnered with professional dancer, Nikita Kuzmin.<\/p>\n

However, in a statement released on Tuesday (Septmber 23), Dani confirmed she can no longer continue in the competition.<\/p>\n

She said: “I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny. I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle.<\/p>\n

“Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable (!!) and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance so l\u2019ve had to pull out of the show.”<\/p>\n

She added: “To say I\u2019m heartbroken is the biggest understatement. I am so going to miss dancing with Nikita but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on.”<\/p>\n

Sarah James, Executive Producer at BBC<\/a> Studios also said: \u201cDani has brought so much passion, joy and enthusiasm to Strictly, and her partnership with Nikita was off to the most sensational start.<\/p>\n

“Everyone on the show is incredibly sad that she’s no longer able to compete in this year’s series. We send her all our love and best wishes for a swift recovery, and we very much hope to welcome her back to the ballroom in the future.”<\/p>\n

The news was also shared on Strictly’s official social media pages with the caption: “Unfortunately due to an injury Dani Dyer is no longer able to compete in #Strictly 2025. She\u2019ll be sorely missed and we wish her a speedy recovery.”<\/p>\n

Following the news, Dani and Nikita’s Strictly co-stars were quick to show their support. Dianne Buswell said: “I\u2019m so sorry dani and Nikita. We will miss you so much.” Amy Dowden shared: “Sending you so much love and a speedy recovery @danidyerxx absolutely gutted for you and @nikita__kuzmin.”<\/p>\n

Johannes Radebe commented: “Gutted for you both, take care of yourself.” Shirley Ballas posted: “I\u2019m so so sorry. But health is most important. Get well soon Angel.” Nadiya Bychkova added: “What a sad news. Get well soon @danidyerxx.
