The 2025 WTA China Open takes place at the China National Tennis Center in Beijing between Wednesday, September 24, and Sunday, October 5.<\/p>\n

The China Open is a WTA 1000 event, so many of the world\u2019s best players have entered. Iga Swiatek<\/a>, Coco Gauff, and Jessica Pegula<\/a> are all in the draw.<\/p>\n

There is $8.96 million in prize money available to the women\u2019s singles players at the WTA China Open this week. The winner will receive more than $1m. <\/p>\n

The Tennis Gazette writers<\/a> have predicted which player will lift the WTA China Open trophy next Sunday.<\/p>\n

Matthew Johns<\/a>: Perhaps predictable, but I am going to go with top seed Iga Swiatek to win the China Open. Swiatek has been hugely impressive in the second half of the 2025 season and will likely be sensing an opportunity to close the gap on the absent world number one, Aryna Sabalenka<\/a>. Coco Gauff may be the defending champion, but she still feels like too much of an unknown quantity going into this event.<\/p>\n

Lee Clarke<\/a>: \u00a0I really like the look of defending champ Coco Gauff<\/a> here. She says she views this as a \u2018practice tournament\u2019 and, having won it last year, she clearly likes playing here.<\/p>\n

George Patten<\/a>: Elena Rybakina has looked increasingly competitive over recent months, but has yet to record a standout result. She may do just that in Beijing and take home her first WTA 1000 title of the year.<\/p>\n
