A highly regarded film from 2013 whose fans passionately defend it as both underrated and unmissable is coming to Netflix<\/a> in the UK in days.<\/p>\n Providing a major breakthrough role for its leading man Oscar Isaac<\/a>, the period black comedy<\/a> drama came from the minds of movie master brothers Joel and Ethan Coen<\/a>.<\/p>\n Between them, the Coen Brothers have amassed a staggering 16 Academy Award<\/a> nominations (and four wins) for films including Fargo, No Country for Old Men and True Grit.<\/p>\n But it\u2019s Inside Llewyn Davis<\/a> that will be available<\/a> to Netflix subscribers in the UK very soon.<\/p>\n It will be added to the streaming service in just over a week on October 1, alongside 2014 apocalyptic horror film The Remaining.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tGet personalised updates on all things Netflix\t\t\t<\/p>\n Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro\u2019s TV Newsletter.<\/p>\n Sign up to our newsletter<\/a> and then select your show in the link we\u2019ll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you.<\/p>\n Set in 1961, Inside Llewyn Davis follows one week in the life of the titular struggling singer-songwriter (played by Frankenstein<\/a> and In the Hand of Dante<\/a> star Isaac) in New York<\/a> City\u2019s Greenwich Village, who is chasing success while penniless and sleeping on his friend\u2019s sofas.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \t\t Referencing real-life New York locations, including the famed Gaslight Caf\u00e9, the film is loosely based on folk singer Dave Van Ronk\u2019s autobiography \u2013 and thrilled fans with a nod to Bob Dylan<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n Its stacked cast also includes Carey Mulligan<\/a>, John Goodman<\/a>, Justin Timberlake<\/a>, Garrett Hedlund, Adam Driver<\/a> and F Murray Abraham, as well as the three ginger mogs who played Ulysses the cat.<\/p>\n Inside Llewyn Davies claimed the Grand Prix at Cannes Film Festival<\/a> on its debut in May 2013, and nabbed multiple award nominations including two Oscar nods and three from the Golden Globes<\/a>.<\/p>\n It has since also featured in many lists recognising the best film of the 21st century by the likes of the BBC, the New York Times and Rolling Stone.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018Watching it over and over through the years, I\u2019m convinced it\u2019s the best film by the Coen Brothers and one of the greatest of the 21st century,\u2019 agreed Ali Zare in a five-star Google review.<\/p>\n \u2018One of the most underappreciated movies ever made. A Coen bros gem and Oscar Isaac absolutely nails his performance. It\u2019s one of the best stories ever told, imo,\u2019 chimed in Chris, while Joshua McVey shared: \u2018I\u2019m a brothers fan, true nerd for the Coen. I think this film was underrated, and could be one of my faves of theirs to date.\u2019<\/p>\n \u2018The best movie of the past decade. Those that hate this movie do so intentionally and not genuinely,\u2019 insisted Riixu PvP.<\/p>\n Inside Llewyn Dabis was also praised on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>, where it holds an impressive 92% score from critics\u2019 reviews and a solid 74% positive rating from over 25,000 fan ratings.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018I absolutely love this film,\u2019 wrote one fan on the review aggregator site, while others called it \u2018perfect\u2019.<\/p>\n \u2018I\u2019m obsessed with this movie. Oscar Isaac is a beautiful musician and actor. The tale is heartbreaking. So well written and acted by every cast member. And the cinematography is gorgeous,\u2019 enthused Pamela H.<\/p>\n \u2018Growing up around folk music, this film hits a lot of personal notes, and it\u2019s a beautiful sad story that shouldn\u2019t be missed,\u2019 added another fan.<\/p>\n Inside Llewyn Dabis made back three times its budget, grossing $33million on an $11m production budget, while Empire magazine<\/a> called it \u2018beautiful, heartfelt and utterly enthralling\u2019.<\/p>\n \u2018The music choices alone will ensure this haunting, beautifully detailed film will live a long and lasting life,\u2019 added Radio Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n Since then, the Coen Brothers have made Hail, Caesar! and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs together, as well as pursuing separate projects including The Tragedy of Macbeth (Joel) and the \u2018lesbian B movies\u2019 Drive-Away Dolls and Honey Don\u2019t!
