Gilles Peterson, Ezra Collective <\/a>and Fontaines D.C.<\/a> were among the big winners at the The\u00a0Association of Independent Music\u00a0(AIM) Awards 2025 last night.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Legendary broadcaster Gilles picked up the Outstanding Contribution to Music award to honour a trailblazing career which dates back over four decades.<\/p>\n

Ezra Collective,\u00a0who had three nominations on the night, also took home Best Independent Track for \u2018God Gave Me Feet For Dancing\u2019, which features Yazmin Lacey.<\/p>\n

There was also an Innovator Award win for avant-garde icon Cosey Fanni Tutti, while Bon Iver and Jagjaguwar\u00a0won\u2018Best Creative Campaign\u2019 for the imaginative roll-out of SABLE, fABLE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cosey Fanni Tutti commented:\u00a0\u201cEverything I\u2019ve done has been totally independent.\u00a0This is really special because innovation and independence really are sisters with me.\u00a0 I\u2019ve seen innovation as a lifeblood of the music world \u2013 without that there would be no inspiration.\u201d<\/p>\n

And when it came to Best Independent Album (in association with Spotify), that gong went to Fontaines D.C.\u00a0for Romance<\/a>, released via XL Recordings.<\/p>\n

AIM CEO Gee Davy said:\u00a0\u201cTonight\u2019s 15th anniversary edition of The Independent Music Awards has been an unforgettable celebration of the creative freedom, resilience, and innovative spirit that has always defined the independent music community.\u00a0<\/p>\n
