pro golfer Madison Pool<\/a>, attempted to get an Uber at 6:30 p.m. but changed course when they saw the uber expensive choices for the 33-mile ride from Farmingdale, Long Island, to Midtown Manhattan.<\/p>\n\u201cWhen we came [there] from Times Square, it was like $190 to $200. And that was during rush hour too. That\u2019s why I was so shocked at the price. I\u2019m like, \u2018Who\u2019s gonna pay this?’\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

She was also stunned to see the massive amount of spectators who were also trying to get a car home.<\/p>\n
\u201cI see probably 250 people waiting in line just to even get an Uber, so we were probably going to be there for two hours just waiting,\u201d said Henderson, who has been playing golf since the age of 3.<\/p>\n
When the pair actually requested a driver, the app didn\u2019t even provide wait times.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was just loading, like it was never going to give us a time. And we had to get to this Sports Illustrated event that we were going to go to, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh gosh, we\u2019re not going to make that,’\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Luckily, her job as an influencer saved her $350 on a ride back to Manhattan.<\/p>\n
She was working with DraftKings for the Ryder Cup, and managed to make it to a nearby home the company had rented, she said.<\/p>\n
The duo then called an Uber from the house, which only cost $90.<\/p>\n

Henderson, who also hails from Carmel, Indiana, said her Midwestern roots make it even harder to wrap her head around the over-the-top price tags in NYC.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing born and raised in the Midwest, I\u2019m so not used to New York prices,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I\u2019m in Indiana, I\u2019m going to get an Uber for $18.\u201d <\/p>\n
To get to Saturday\u2019s matches, Henderson and Pool wisened up \u2014 and saved a chunk of change.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday we actually took Lyft because we found out that it\u2019s way cheaper than Uber,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
