{"id":165578,"date":"2025-09-28T08:41:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-28T08:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/165578\/"},"modified":"2025-09-28T08:41:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-28T08:41:08","slug":"award-winning-borders-boxing-club-fighting-to-find-a-new-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/165578\/","title":{"rendered":"Award-winning Borders boxing club fighting to find a new home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Hawick Boxing Club has been in its current premises for more than six years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The two-tiered gymnasium has enough space for two sparring rings, a vast bag training area, toilets and kitchen facilities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">As well as 16-year-old Rosie, the club has produced countless other British, Scottish and regional champions during its time at Princes Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">But it also has a wider community benefit with up to 60 children and young people attending training on week nights.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It also hosts an outreach programme for pupils struggling at school, and acts as a drop-in for many older, retired boxers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Hawick Boxing Club has been in its current premises for more than six years.
