Michael Madsen’s sister Virginia<\/a> Madsen was seen for the first time since her brother’s shock death in July.<\/p>\n

The Oscar-nominated actress, 64, stepped out with her Emmy<\/a> winner mother Elaine Madsen, 93, in Los Angeles<\/a> almost three months after the Kill Bill star’s death<\/a>\u00a0from cardiac arrest aged 67.<\/p>\n

Virginia and Elaine held hands on the rare outing together – which saw the pair don smart outfits in white and lavender tones.<\/p>\n

The star made her film debut in 1983 with a small part in Class opposite Rob Lowe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Her breakout role came the following year when she played Princess Irulan in David Lynch’s Dune.<\/p>\n

And she was the main attraction in the horror film Candyman (1992).<\/p>\n

For her portrayal of waitress Maya Randall in Sideways (2004), Madsen was nominated for the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2005.<\/p>\n

Subsequent credits include A Prairie Home Companion (2006), The Number 23 (2007), The Haunting in Connecticut (2009), Joy (2015), and Lola (2024).<\/p>\n

Virginia was married to actor and director Danny Huston after meeting on the set of Mr. North (1988). They married in 1989 and divorced in 1992.<\/p>\n

He had a large role on Yellowstone but was killed off; the show returns on November 10.<\/p>\n

Virginia was in a long-term relationship with Antonio Sab\u00e0to Jr. from 1993 to 1998. They share a son.<\/p>\n

And she wed Gilmore Girls actor Nick Holmes in 2020.<\/p>\n

Following Michael’s shock death, Virginia paid a heartbreaking tribute to him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘My brother Michael has left the stage,’ Virginia said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘He was thunder and velvet. Mischief wrapped in tenderness. A poet disguised as an outlaw. A father, a son, a brother \u2014 etched in contradiction, tempered by love that left its mark.’<\/p>\n

Virginia is the younger sister of the late Kill Bill star, and the pair have supported one another throughout their respective careers in Hollywood<\/p>\n

‘We’re not mourning a public figure,’ she added. ‘We’re not mourning a myth \u2014 but flesh and blood and ferocious heart. Who stormed through life loud, brilliant, and half on fire. Who leaves us echoes \u2014 gruff, brilliant, unrepeatable \u2014 half legend, half lullaby.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

She concluded in a statement obtained by Variety<\/a>: ‘I’ll miss our inside jokes, the sudden laughter, the sound of him. I’ll miss the boy he was before the legend; I miss my big brother.’<\/p>\n

‘Thank you to everyone reaching out with love and memory. In time, we’ll share how we plan to celebrate his life \u2014 but for now, we stay close, and let the silence say what words can’t.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

The star’s manager Ron Smith claimed to the Daily Mail that Madsen had died from ‘cardiac arrest.’<\/p>\n

A statement from the star’s representatives read: ‘In the last two years Michael Madsen has been doing some incredible work with independent film including upcoming feature films Resurrection Road, Concessions and Cookbook for Southern Housewives, and was really looking forward to this next chapter in his life.<\/p>\n

‘Madsen was also preparing to release a new book called Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"She <\/p>\n

She concluded her heartbreaking statement in July saying: ‘I miss my big brother.’<\/p>\n

‘Michael Madsen was one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors, who will be missed by many.’<\/p>\n

Madsen was best known for his frequent collaborations with director Quentin Tarantino, starring in Reservoir Dogs (1992), Kill Bill: Volume 2 (2004), The Hateful Eight (2015), and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019).<\/p>\n

He also starred in 1997’s Donnie Brasco as Sonny Black<\/p>\n

Madsen is survived by his five children.
