{"id":166641,"date":"2025-09-28T20:06:19","date_gmt":"2025-09-28T20:06:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/166641\/"},"modified":"2025-09-28T20:06:19","modified_gmt":"2025-09-28T20:06:19","slug":"charles-leclerc-warns-ferrari-of-very-long-years-ahead-of-f1-2026-reset","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/166641\/","title":{"rendered":"Charles Leclerc warns Ferrari of &#8216;very long years&#8217; ahead of F1 2026 reset"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Charles Leclerc has warned that he and Ferrari are in for \u201cfour very long years\u201d if it fails to successfully interpret <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/series\/single-seater\/formula-1\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Formula 1<\/a>\u2018s forthcoming new technical regulations.<\/p>\n<p>From next year, F1 will begin racing under a radical <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fia.com\/F126\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">new rulebook<\/a>, in which the sport is likely to see a whole new kind of racing.<\/p>\n<p>With DRS departing, aerodynamic changes and the equal divide between combustion and electric power, teams have been working hard to get to grips with the challenges it provides.<\/p>\n<p>Leclerc was one of the first drivers who publicly commented on the changes, saying he was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/2025\/06\/27\/charles-leclerc-delivers-damning-view-on-2026-f1-car-after-initial-simulation-run\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cnot a fan\u201d<\/a> after an early simulator experience.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Monegasque has given an update on how things have progressed since, and it is one that is much more positive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rate of improvement is very impressive, I think for all the teams,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously, there are big, big gains found every week. So, since the last time I actually commented that, it\u2019s definitely gone for better, and that is a good thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/F1-2026-cr-FIA-1024x576.webp.webp\" alt=\"The 2026 F1 cars will provide a whole new challenge\" class=\"wp-image-220310\"  \/>Charles Leclerc believes Ferrari are in for \u201cfour very long years\u201d if the 2026 regulations are interpreted incorrectly<\/p>\n<p>Leclerc did acknowledge that there is going to be a significant change in how drivers will race each other, but accepted the difficulty that will bring. <\/p>\n<p>And above all, he offered a stern warning that failure to interpret the rules as well as others could result in a further drought for himself and his team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI still think that it\u2019s going to be a huge change, and there will be some things that I think are going to be very difficult to change, and we\u2019ll just have to adapt to these new cars,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd also the way we will fight is going to be very tricky.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut, I take that as a challenge for now. I\u2019m sure that if we win, I will absolutely love those regulations. If we don\u2019t, then it might be four very long years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut yeah, it got a lot better. That\u2019s all I can say for now.
